Perhaps as a start we can return to 7.30 kick offs which covers off the extra 15 minutes?

Perhaps as a start we can return to 7.30 kick offs which covers off the extra 15 minutes? There's sense in that. I don't exactly live just around the corner myself, any more.

The stoppage times thus far do appear to be excessive but before rushing to judgment I'd really like to see a breakdown of the minutes added for various "time wasting" incidents. If the idea is to cut down on suchlike then surely it is incumbent upon the authorities to provide that information to managers? Whether us plebs ever get to see it is a different matter.

The scoreboard clock is running slow. I noticed that the fourth official put up the additional time at the end of the first half before the clock was showing 45 minutes. As a check, I started my stopwatch for the start of the second half. The fourth official put up the board for additional time exactly on the 90th minute according to my stopwatch, yet the scoreboard clock was showing only 89:24, meaning 36 seconds had been “lost”. Eleven minutes were added, yet the referee blew on 100:36 according to the scoreboard clock. Visual basic timer elements are tied to the CPU clock speed, if the PC is doing other work with open programmes it will slow the counter. Really the timer function should be tied to the system clock, but you can offset the timer element so a second actually equals a second, that is how we got it right the first time

All I know is that on my watch Micky Mouse’s hand was past his elbow.

A supporter said to me he won't bother coming along to Tuesday night games if this continues. Last train and all that. Seems odd when he can still watch the same amount of football even if he has to leave a few minutes before the end. Sure, you don't want to miss the end. But I'd prefer that to missing the whole thing. I kind of understand feeling it's ruined the experience if you miss the end

Matt raised issues related to injuries and suspensions. You can expect lots of injury and suspension ravaged squads this season. At least we wont be the only ones. It would not shock me if the planks who gave this one the go ahead dont even watch football. We will probably have to endure it for the whole season as I doubt it will get reviewed mid season. at least Var offers some solid advantages after it has ruined parts of the game..

Anyone watching the Burton game V Leicester last night might have noticed a mere 5 mins added on in the second half.

The update to the rules regarding added time on the scoreboard were sprung on us the day before the Notts game so we didn't have time to update and fully test it. All working now. However, going by tonight it doesn't seem we'll be going over 100 minutes as often as we thought after the first two games...

The goal celebrations and flare incident accounted for 2.5 minutes of the 3 minutes stoppage time in the first half last night.

Yes last night was pretty reasonable. Although the ref was not the best. To be fair, there has been no time wasting so credit where due, it has worked. Though I can't see it lasting. The only one that can do that is the ref and his cards.
