I have been trying to decide if I wanted to respond to the commentary feedback. It's not me, nor am I involved with SUFCTV in anyway. I know some won't like it but I think it's fair to say it.
I do think it would have been better & kinder to send this criticism privately to SUFCTV rather than on a public forum. None of the guys on comms are paid and they are doing it for the experience.
I can assure you putting yourself out there is quite terrifying and I would imagine having to call the game whilst watching amplifies that terror many times over.
The overwhelming majority of people watching would be local & therefore understand the "dialect" perfectly fine. Could it be that people are hearing there own mistakes? These are picked up on quickly by our own ears (for example I hate it when the small person says "haaa?" instead of pardon because I literally hear myself!).
I realise I am coming from a position of making lots of errors when I speak (I get the transcripts to see them as well as hear them!) so am very aware people would hate the way I speak too.
But please try to remember these are actual humans that you are ripping into; switch to opposition comms or mute it (as I often do with Sky and the highly paid professionals) but try to not shatter someone's confidence.
I'm sure you can message SUFCTV on here or any of the socials if you wanted to give your feedback as I do understand they review the "tapes".

Having seen some images of our second half disallowed goal (the first one), it was onside. Add that with the penalty we were not given and while our performance was not the best, we were actually quite unlucky not to be in the lead early second half, who knows how that could have panned out? We have most definitely been unlucky this year as well with important decisions not going our way...

I'm sure you can message SUFCTV on here or any of the socials if you wanted to give your feedback as I do understand they review the "tapes". A fine and fair response. This is what the forum is for. May I make two observations, though? 1. I did praise the content of the commentary which I also referred to as 'the most important thing'. Perhaps I should ramp that up a little. The commentary is enthusiastic, fluent and easily knowledgable enough for our purposes. It's good stuff and it's appreciated. 2. Nonetheless, if anyone is going to enter into the realm of public sepaking then they must expect some degree of criticism. It goes with the territory. No one was being 'ripped into'. If anyone's confidence has been 'shattered' then that's an overreaction. One can be told a very great many worse things in the world than that one does not pronounce the letter 't' properly and that it might be worth trying to do so. I look forward to the continuation of the commentary throughout the rest of the season.
