I'm genuinely intrigued at what a US-based commercial real estate player is doing pitching up as a director at Sutton United. Would be interesting to understand his background in sport, interest in English footbal, his motivation for involvement in the club (how did this come about? is he a shareholder?), and what his role will entail. He's not the first American to come on board. To find out why someone in another country, who might not have even heard of us before, might suddenly get involved with us you need not go further than listen to Mike's very interesting interview with Kenneth from Texas anchor.fm/suttonpodcast/episodes/Mike-with-Kenneth-e1c8ec4 Indeed he is not. I've not listened to this interview before but will resolve that. As Os remarked, it's the generic nature of the statement on the website that brought me to raise this point. I really am intrigued - to latch on to DaveF's reply - as to what a US-based realtor will bring in terms of understanding the economic realities of English lower league football. He might be the perfect fit, I'd just love to understand how!

Previously the club did welcome investors on to the board of Directors so i'm hoping he has come along with a big pot of Gold plus a wealth of experience.

Yes I kind of got slammed down for my post about him. We used to really know the board but now they all seem so distant and we wonder what their motives are. They're not in it to lose money. I had good chats with 3 board members at the match last night, including the chairman. I must be very special, because they're all so distant, and I have no idea what their motives are. What I meant was that the Board members that we all know (and love!) are primarily Sutton United supporters through and through.

No doubt that investment will increase. Wasn't Tim Allison saying the club needed £500k to build the new stand 🤔

I think I heard that the p.a system won’t be up graded until the new stand is built. Have noted though that there are more speaker's round the ground witch must help a bite, so for the time being we will just have to wait for the new p.a system. Sorry, couldn't resist it! Bravo! But the new p.a.will not help if the announcer is the same. If you listen to Tony interviewing Matt you will appreciate he isn't the clearest of speakers into a mike. A person can get away with speaking as fast as that into a mike if they have a high-pitched voice or a nasal twang - but not a baritone.

What seems like many years ago when the P A System was working ok, Tony's voice came over loud and clear then

You couldn't make it up 🙄

There are other issues, as many have observed before, like whereabouts in the ground you're standing. It's a horribly open ground with big acoustic gaps (in this respect), which doesn't help. Tony is far from the worst I've heard, but he's not the best either. Runs his words into each other. Cardinal sin, in this area. Which is, partly, my area of work.

Never had a problem with Tony tbh. Just can't hear him because of the pa system.

No I'm fine with Tony. It's that bloke who does the half time "entertainment" that I can't understand.
