On my last post,I was trying to cover both Saturdays game and next weekends game. Appreciated. But much of the discussion is still going on (coming up to 8 pages of it) at considerable length on the Stockport thread. I'm just saying, give things a chance to play themselves out on an existing thread before putting up another. There isn't much we can meaningfully say about next Sat's game, yet (operative word), that isn't a direct reflection of the game that happened only yesterday!

Be interesting to see what possible changes Jason makes.

Not many - hardly any players fit

Players were returning from fitness last game but could not play the whole 45m apparently, lets hope the extra week has got them fit. Or maybe it may have been Matt not wanting to blame the subbed players after he wanted to sub them at 4-0 down.
Bouzanis Hart John Sowunmi Kizzy Patrick Beautyman N'Guessan Coley Smith O'Brien
1-1.

Pleased but very surprised if Louis John is fit enough to start.

Perhaps we need a new thread for the actual match on Saturday. Alternatively, perhaps someone could amend the title of this thread to make it clear that it will be about the match.

One change from PAZ's post. Arnold in for Bouzanis. Has more control in his area. Going to be a tough game.Mansfield are odds on ,according to the bookies,to win. We need to win ,but will find it hard. Hope Jason can install some better mood and incentive. Saying that, the team, after last week's game should be up for it. A win is a must.

Mansfield have lost one league game all season. Although we've never lost to them, our recent record suggests that if we lose this one by fewer than three goals we'd be doing pretty well.
Still, the events of the last six days will have shaken our players, and Jason is starting with a blank sheet. Unknown territory can throw up surprises.

Find it really hard to be optimistic about a result here against one of the top 3/4 sides in the division. The only thing in our favour is that football is a funny old game. We may as well throw some shots and try and get at them for the first 15 and see how far it takes us.

I would actually agree with that. I thought against Crewe he was punching the ball out a lot which assisted the defenders more..

As some of you will have noticed, there are some League Two games this evening. Forest Green and Colchester, the two clubs just above us in the table, are both at home, against Gillingham and Salford respectively. Should they both win, we'd go into tomorrow's match eight points from safety. Should they both lose, however, things would look a little brighter.

Here’s a bit of wishful thinking. If you extrapolate the 6-game form guide to the end of the season we’ll finish 6 points clear of relegation. Unfortunately, that deceptively positive stat is only down to the shocking recent form of Colchester & FGR, which obviously we’re all praying continues this evening.
