As some of you will have noticed, there are some League Two games this evening. Forest Green and Colchester, the two clubs just above us in the table, are both at home, against Gillingham and Salford respectively. Should they both win, we'd go into tomorrow's match eight points from safety. Should they both lose, however, things would look a little brighter. Personally don’t think the league should allow games to be brought forward a day given Boxing Day schedule.

Why have these matches been brought forward, btw? I was wondering about that. Why not just have a standard Sat for the whole of L2?

The chances of any other teams significantly imploding, and helping us out, continue to narrow. Scraping for draws ins't going to be enough. Frankly, it was never enough during our 'improvement' phase.
The new manager will really have their work cut out.

It goes without saying (I'll say it anyway!), but a really rousing reception is required when the players come out.

Sorry to say that first half was pathetic from SU. The body language is shocking and I don’t think SU has strung three passes together. The Smith chance in the 43rd was almost the only time SU had been in their box. The worst culprits so far are Coley and N’Guessan, but everyone seems to be hiding. Is Patrick even on the pitch? Confidence is shot.
Edit: Coley and N’Guessan both subbed at half time. At least that’s a positive.

There are a few players who need to be sent packing as soon as possible. Top of that list is bouzanis. How a player can keep his place after such shocking performance as last week is beyond belief. He should not be anywhere near the first team. He's an absolute liability and even his kicking has fallen apart. What on earth was he doing for that first goal? How badly does he need to play for Arnold to get his chance?
Not far behind are N guessan and Coley who both need to fck off in Jan. Jackson looks like he can't be arsed so he can go too. A few other players aren't good enough but at least they're trying (Hart, clay).
We need six or seven to even have a sniff of a chance of staying up as its clear from today's showing this team is wrecked. No decent manager is going to come near it without financial assurances. It'll be a risk as no way anyone is taking the likes of Coley and N'guessan unless we pay their wages. If we can't afford that, then I'd rather see youth team players given a chance than watch the shower of rubbish produced by those two excuses for football players.
At least we can send bouzanis back to Reading in a week. If he's first choice in 2024, I will find something else to do on Saturdays.

Confidence is shot. Edit: Coley and N’Guessan both subbed at half time. At least that’s a positive. Can't disagree. 2nd half marginally better with a slightly less negative set-up but the result was an inevitability. First game of the season for me and while I appreciate I was seeing the side after a tumultuous week - and facing an automatic promotion contender - there was frankly nothing in that game to give encouragement that 22nd place is a possibility with 9 points between us and parity, not to mention the goal difference. Inaccurate passing, heavy and ponderous touches, little in the way of urgency and far too many aimless hoofs forward which simply ensured the meagre amount of possession we had was ceded immediately. Bouzanis' kicking was dreadful and our left side was easy pickings for the visitors. I did think that Hart acquitted himself well at centre half. He's certainly got an unorthodox style of play to him but he was the one player that stood out for me as giving it a go.
