Just imagine how we'd look back at this thread if Jason got maximum points over the holiday period...

I am really surprised not to see Danny Cowley in the betting even at 25/1?

Unlikely to leave BW but what about Luke Garrard?

Just imagine how we'd look back at this thread if Jason got maximum points over the holiday period... Would be bloody marvellous. Incredibly unlikely but we’d be in a better position for sure. Get to the bookies if you think that’s going to happen.

Get to the bookies if you think that’s going to happen. But also not impossible. It only becomes impossible after the event. If we got into the position where Jason had led us to victories against Mansfield, Wimbledon, Gillingham and Newport, you could well go to the bookies then and put your house on him getting the job. However unlikely you think that is, it's probably no less likely than than hiring the majority of people on the bookies list.

There are a number of names on that list who, were one of them to be appointed, would tempt me to take a pair of scissors to my season ticket. The trouble is beggars can't be choosers and I wonder how much some of those named would cost and how attractive a proposition we'd be for them? I suppose it partly depends on how eager they are to get back into management with failure to keep us up not such a blot on their CV. Nathan Rooney sounds like he'd be the most "interesting" appointment and the first name I had to look up, very young and currently managing a club in Gibraltar.

The only way the club could make a quick appointment would be if they had somebody lined up before making the announcement about Matt. And that's not the Sutton way of doing things. It may not be the "Sutton way of doing things", but also that way of doing things was also that we don't sack managers, which we just did. We're in a situation we've never been in before. I don't think we can assume anything that we've "done it before"

I want to trust our board have an urgent plan to appoint a new manager to give us the best chance to save our efl status . I worry that with the Christmas holidays, like the last poster, they may allow 4 or more games to pass with the existing coaching team, concerned whether this will be enough to motivate the players to win matches. In the few games before when Mr Gray left Mr Goodliffe in charge it felt like the team slacked off. I wait with some trepidation and nervous excitement to see what tactical changes(if any) he might make for Saturday. Hopefully the players sleeves will be rolled up to give a go. The players really do need to unify "as one". Aim high for 9 more points by the end of 2023. Which games did Matt leave Jason in charge? Certainly Matt was in charge last Saturday, and was in charge at all of our poorest performances that I can recall.

I am really surprised not to see Danny Cowley in the betting even at 25/1? Well he's been in the betting odds for a couple of dozen jobs since leaving Pompey, as odds-on favourite for some. Perhaps being overlooked by the betting traders the brothers will come under the wire for the Sutton United post.

Just imagine how we'd look back at this thread if Jason got maximum points over the holiday period... It all depends on how things were when Matt was here. If relationships had started to break down then we could see an improvement simply based on the fact there is less stress in the camp. But I cant see Jason doing a lot different with regards to selection and training. Unless he has been viewing things a bit different to Matt but was not in a position to apply anything significant. I think the best case scenario would be to have our new manager watching on Saturday and taking over boxing day. While he wont have any time on yhe training ground, The sooner he gets to know the squad and club the better.

What about Luke Gerrard ? No. One job at a relatively well funded NL side and underperfoming this season.
