An interesting, unexpected (until yesterday) rather left-field appointment: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_MorisonI wonder how many L2 managers have been appointed from a club 3 steps below? Let's hope the gap isn't one step next season!

Welcome to the club Steve 😁.
Personally I am very excited about his appointment and hope that he gets a little pot of money to bring in two or three players .

First Sutton who I’ve seen score for Cymru.
Not the appointment we expected before yesterday, but an interesting one.

Decent appointment, experience at a higher level as a manager and as a player. Was also doing great at Hornchurch. He also has experience fighting the drop where he saved Cardiff from relegation. I presume he will be working with the current backroom staff, lets hope they all get along.

Cardiff fan in peace.
Just seen SM has become your new manager, please don’t be put off by having a manager from a lower league.
He was our manager in the Championship and led us to Championship survival comfortably in the 21/22 season and had us playing good football after a complete squad overhaul in the 22/23 season. He was sacked, apparently based on results, however we were never struggling, more inconsistent whilst still getting results.
A lot of Cardiff fans believe it was a falling out with Vincent Tan rather than results that led to his dismissal.
We were terrible after he left and stayed up by the skin of our teeth last season. He was in the running to get his job back last summer and was favourite at one point but we opted for Erol Bulut.
I thought he would’ve ended up at a L1 club at least so was surprised he went to Hornchurch where his record is superb.
You may still go down but if you do I think you’ve got a manager who will give you a fighting chance whilst playing attractive football. If you do go down to the NL, I imagine he’ll bring you back up as well.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

BBC article confirms that Anthony Fenton will join Morrison as assistant. I wondered, as Jason looked a bit emotional when he was asked about the new manager at the end of todays interview, as if it was goodbye . Looks like the end of an era. If Jason does leave I wish him all the best, another Sutton Legend! www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67904321

Looks a wildcard choice to me, pulled Cardiff City out of a relegation battle, then had a poor start to the 22/23 season before getting the sack, mind you Vincent Tan is a nut case, so that isn't much to go on.
Since joining Hornchurch, he has just lost 1 of 22 league matches, he likes attacking football, and all in all, an interesting appointment.
I hope he gets some money to spend, but I am not holding my breath.

I'm going to wait for official club confirmation about the backroom staff.

I think I see the logic of this, both in the attempt to keep us up and for a rebuild should we go down.
Sad for Jason, but the team do need a new regime and a fresh voice.
Good luck, Steve, for all our sakes. You're probably going to need it, but it's not mission impossible.

If I am not mistaken Morison actually played in the playoff final with Aiden O'Brien, which is a bonus.

We've still a lot to learn about the new gaffer, but the impression I have is that he's much less of a diplomat than Matt. We'll see how that works out.
The four clubs at the bottom of League Two have all appointed new managers within the last three weeks. Steve Morison's challenge, in a nutshell, is to get the better of two out of Karl Robinson, Danny Cowley and Troy Deeney. This could get feisty.

Sad if Jason goes. I think he made a real difference in the time he has been caretaker and the new guy may not be any better.
