Great interview with Steve from a few years back. Interesting insight into life as a player and his outlook on stuff... Interesting how we judge players without knowing the inside scenarios.. Thanks for sharing, what an excellent interview.

Must agree with Stewart an excellent interview, and with the three signings made the rebuilding of SUFC has begun, in the capable hands of our new manager.

I didn't have time to listen to all of that interview, but what I did hear was quite revealing. SM isn't the most articulate of managers, but I sense that he has a pretty sophisticated understanding of how to achieve success in the game. He just doesn't have the vocabulary to convey some of the concepts and nuances, hence the falling back on clichés. If he can communicate what he needs to his players (no sophisticates themselves!), that may not matter much.
He's certainly a very different character to both of his predecessors.
