We could really do with this match being played otherwise Smith will be banned for the Doncaster game in early Feb unless the Mansfield game gets rearranged very quickly if it does fall foul of the weather this weekend.

Minus 4 tonight and minus 1 on Friday night but then rain forecast for Saturday with a high of plus 7. In Mansfield of course.

Minus 4 tonight and minus 1 on Friday night but then rain forecast for Saturday with a high of plus 7. In Mansfield of course. Depending on what one you look at. AccuWeather is now saying tomorrow is a high of 4 and a low of 1, which is going in the right direction, picking up to 6-5 on Saturday. If that's correct then we have a chance, especially if it warms up through the early hours of Sat AM.

Salford v Colchester, due to be played tomorrow evening, has been called off.
In the unlikely event of us winning at Mansfield on Saturday, we'd close the gap on Colchester to three points (still with a game in hand).

I think it really depends as much on how much sun the pitch gets as how low the overnight temperatures drop. A fair amount of sunshine is forecast towards the tail end of the week, but that pitch probably doesn't get a lot of direct sun anyway Apparently they used heat lights on "areas that get little sunlight" to no avail this week. The only chance is if the overnight weather rises above 0 and their "heaters" work. Probably have a better idea on Friday. That's good to know. Very interesting!

Let's get some facts straight here, the cost of the coach to Mansfield is £25 -Return .The last time a game was called off at short notice was Barrow 3 yrs ago.Another subsidised journey is to Walsall £25 Return--another bargain from the Supporters club. No one was criticizing the supporters club.

I may be in a minority here but, good. Tough away matches against high placed teams should come a little easier to us once Steve and the new players have had more chance to bed in.
Glad it was called off in good time so that no one got stuck travelling.

Quite surprised in the end as it was warming up, but at least the players don't need a wasted trip.
Disagree its a good thing, they have had 2 weeks and midweek fixtures are harder away with less fans. Nit to mention less rest time for players.

Sadly may struggle to arrange time off at such short notice.

Wonder why the clubs didn’t simply play 24 hours later? The temperature is set to rise dramatically tomorrow. Surely the pitch would be OK for a 3pm kickoff on Sunday? Better for fans that way…

Better for fans that way… Takes more than 24 hours for a penetrating frost, such as we have been getting, to come out of the ground.
