I will start this thread. Another draw? 1-1. I can't see any improvement from yesterday's game.

I see that "footballwebpages" is predicting a 1-0 win for Sutton. I'd certainly take that! Wrexham have lost 4 of their last 6 league games so maybe this is a good time to play them. Or maybe not.....

How is we sell out for a midweek game against Wrexham ? I know its half term week but its not as though we are playing Arsenal at home in the FA Cup !

This fixture pits two sides who've gone off the boil lately, Wrexham having lost their last four games (including in the Cup at Blackburn) while we've drawn two and lost two of our last four (and haven't won since Boxing Day).
Both sides will really want to win this one, in need of points at opposite ends of the table. The much-fancied visitors should be favourites, but if the Sutton team can muster the energy and commitment shown in the reverse fixture in October, when we were only beaten by two wonder strikes, we must have a chance. Wrexham's away form is much poorer than their home form, though we haven't won a league game on home turf since 28 October. Something will have to give.
At the very least, a sell-out crowd under the lights should make for a cracking atmosphere.

Aspects to this match selling out are some film stars, who may or may not turn up , a Netflix film plus the BBC.1,s promotion of Wrexham. In addition this is one of only two times Wrexham visit London. "Neutrals" with the Wrexham bug have been enquiring about buying tickets ever since the fixtures were announced . To be fair to our event/ tickets team much has been done to maximise this exposure. Lots of hospitality packages linked to grandstand seats have been sold to maximise the value of a seat, linking the match to a 3 match package increasing the revenue from those desperate to see their new found heroes. Well done to the club for selling out a mid week fixture I say. I am sure after yesterday the ground will be looking it's best, hopefully shop sales will be boosted. Bar receipts increased. Expect longer queues for chips etc. I even believe some fans are flying in from America for this one. Our last home win was at the end of the autumn half term so maybe the omens will be with us and we can win . Be good for our real home fans to have something to cheer and be a good place to start that 10 game winning streak I dream of.

3 points here could make up for the last two disappointing results. of course, it won't be easy, But we do tend to play better when teams come forward more, so who knows?

Sorry for the slightly off-topic post all, but I am coming to my first game tomorrow (recently moved into the local area and fancied some weekday football). I have booked the MBA Lounge and was just wondering if anybody has any idea about the dress code? e.g. is it full suit or more smart casual? I have tried to ask the Club but understandably they're inundated with queries due to Wrexham rolling into town, so they haven't got back to me yet. Thanks.

I’ve never noticed a dress code, so just what you’re going to comfortable and warm enough in to watch a football match is fine.

We look forward to welcoming you to your first match at GGL - Smart Casual is absolutely fine for hospitality but as sufc18 says remember to bring warm outer clothing and also pop into the club shop on your way into MBA and pick up scarf, beanie, etc
