I'm not even going to this one, but nobody else has started a thread.
Some weeks ago I marked this match down as a home banker. Since then Crewe have gone off the boil a little (lost their last two, one win in four), but we've said that before about opponents who've gone on to beat us resoundingly.
If Steve Morison thinks he can keep us up, he needs to win this one and the next two. And then some more. I can't see it, but we live in hope.

I too will be following this match from home, hoping and praying tonight starts a winning run that is uninterrupted until the season end. Obviously Barden and Kasket are out and with the quick turn round from Saturday, I presume Bouzanis,Rose,Milsom,John, Goodliffe, Angol, Patrick and Beautyman remain unavailable. Nothing in the preview to suggest otherwise. I would not be surprised if 3 or even Moore from Saturday's bench have a good chance of Starting tonight's match,

If we produce an unlikely win this evening we’ll be just 2 points off Colchester - their home game against Doncaster tonight has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch (Colchester look like they’re going to have a pile-up of fixtures in the last few weeks of the season).

What you meant to say is, we will be just 2 points off Colchester once we smack 4 goals past Crewe!

What you meant to say is, we will be just 2 points off Colchester once we smack 4 goals past Crewe! I would love that to happen but it would probably mean we had conceded at least five 😢. As an aside is early afternoon not a tad early to get pissed or very high !

Watching on TV, even game so far, U's possibly edging it. Comms from BBC Radio Stoke sound like two biased supporters coming from the pub.

Usual story. Played well enough in parts, better side really but no end product. Miss a sitter. Lose a crap goal. Can’t imagine a side has played worse than that against us this season and won. Miracles don’t happen. Frustratingly you feel the team could actually be half decent with some confidence in final third and a couple of tweaks in personnel. We’re now nailed on finishing bottom. Looks like Colchester coming with us to me which isn’t the worse thing with next season in mind. We can categorically say that Steve Morison hasn’t managed to improve us at all.

Poor second half performance, no evident style of play and no meaningful quality.

And considering Steve was a striker I thought it would have improved the strikers but obviously hasn’t

We were so poor up front and results going against us, to night, it’s not a good night. What makes it so frustrating is Crew were quite poor, but still managed to score a really poor goal, so for me now we are down, and will finish bottom. Just has not happened under Steve, yes more possession, but not much else i’m afraid and also one or two players need to look at them self and say have they done all they can do, me thinks not, I’m just again very frustrated.
Dave F said on commentary that we must beat forest green on Saturday or we are down and I cannot disagree more, we just have not been good enough this season and need a reset to see where we are going.⚽️

I only see one team winning at FGR on Saturday and it’s not us. FGR may well survive this season.

I watched the game on iFollow, the first time I've done this. Excellent commentary from Tony Dolbear, but my absence from the stadium didn't prevent another 1-0 away defeat. 😒
Up until the goal we were the better side, Crewe looking out of sorts and giving away a lot of cheap free kicks and throw-ins. But, as at Morecambe, Bradford and Tranmere, we created very little in the way of scoring opportunities. Josh Coley saw plenty of the ball but was continually over-hitting it. Harry Smith once again cut a frustrated figure, starved of decent service.
During our search for Matt Gray's successor, one name on the bookies' shortlist was Steve Cotterill. He ended up at Forest Green, whom he's just lifted out of the relegation zone (albeit helped by the postponement of Colchester's game) with a 2-0 win at Bradford. Maybe Sutton opted for the wrong Steve.

I think Forest Green are going to hammer us. I just want this season to end, do we really want another season in this league anyway? Crewe were awful tonight and any other team in this league would have comfortably taken three points off them tonight.
Play our young lads now, start getting them experience for next years campaign, we will likely be needing them.

Our inability to keep a clean sheet coupled with our inability to score goals in matches that we could and should have won or at least drawn continues. The sooner the club make changes to the management and players ready for next season in the National League the better imho. Truly a season to forget - so disappointing (understatement).
