I wasn't expecting results to change over night and at no point did I ever think we'd finish anywhere above 24th but I also wasn't expecting the attitude of the manager towards the fans to be so negative. He barely acknowledges our existence and the interviews are poor. It has seeped into the players too and they often don't take the time to acknowledge the crowd after the game either. Yet to be convinced the club hasn't got this appointment horribly wrong I've been wondering about this. With Dos and Matt, we had two managers who really "got" the club and were never shy about interacting with the fans, really becoming part of the fabric of Sutton United. The impression I have (albeit from afar) is that such behaviour isn't even remotely on the agenda of Morison. OK, it can be argued that the task of turning around the team's fortunes was the key priority when he came in but I can't help but worry that something that was such a special element of this club for so long has gone for now when it's most needed. Relegation will hit attendances, winning only a handful of home games in 18 months will hit attendances - this is part of footballing life. But risking losing fans because of the attitude of the manager/playing squad is reckless.

In defence of the players and SM it’s a lot easier to mingle when you are doing well. It’s a little awkward for everyone including supporters when the team are struggling.

Exactly, especially when they are also affected and feel bad when losing. I noticed even Matt was much less present when the bad runs went on. I imagine they do not feel comfortable having a drink and smiling when fans around them are down in the dumps and frustrated. My judgment on Steve will have nothing to do with the social elements right now, that should come naturally here. It's whether or not he can turn this ship around next year and bring some pride to our results again. I am sure if he can then the rest will follow. I will say, I did say hi to Steve last Sat and shook is hand wishing him well for the remainder of the games, also spoke to Anthony Fenton who seemed like a nice chap and was very approachable.

I think reckless is a little bit harsh - it's hard to know exactly what someone you appoint for a role will be like at it until they're actually doing it - but will admit to having some similar thoughts to those expressed here. Saving us from the drop would have had to be prioritised over rapport with fans, obviously. But I'd be absolutely devastated if we were to start edging away from those things that make our club the special and unique place it is.

I qualify my comments with the fact that I'm only around the club a couple of times a season but I fear that that edging away has well and truly started (hello, American realtor shareholders! hello manager that doesn't engage!).

I should add, it doesn't change my support. I just hope that things move back in the "right" direction next season.
