Maybe Sutton opted for the wrong Steve. I dont think Pep or Klopp could keep this side up. I understand why we went for Steve M, Perhaps he could do better rebuilding in the Nat League depending on how the board see things now, but I think the team are looking exhausted, they do not have the abilities Steves style requires. Either that or Steve does not have the ability to get it across efficiently..

This team is highly skilled at losing close games by a single goal. OK it's time now to let go of any lingering pretense we might stay up. Send back all these half assed loanees, play the best of our kids and see if they have any quality to be first team players. Time to completely clear the decks in the summer. Give Morison a season to see if he can assemble a squad to play the sort of football he wants to play with the mettle to win tight games, because he's utterly failed at turning around the current squad's losing mentality.
Watching Sutton this season has been an utterly miserable experience, and I'm in no hurry to renew my ST for a 9th successive season. I'd like to see evidence of a team that doesn't make me want to pull my hair out first. Over to you, Steve. I'll judge you after 12 months in charge, but that doesn't mean I'll pay to watch the transformation.

Looks like I was right about us going down and for once I wish I was wrong . My next prediction is that next season will be a very rough ride too unfortunately . I hope SM will prove me wrong but to be honest I doubt it at the moment . This coming summer will be pivotal with lots of investment in new players required and I’m not convinced the gaffer will be allowed a large enough war chest to get the type and number of players he requires .

I really don't think that Steve Morison will last twelve months at Sutton. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's gone in May.

I’m not sure SM has endeared himself to supporters as interviews appear unwelcome and news on players either non-existent or inaccurate. Rotating a squad that cannot find any cohesion.

I watched the game on iFollow, the first time I've done this. Excellent commentary from Tony Dolbear, but my absence from the stadium didn't prevent another 1-0 away defeat. 😒 I also watched on iFollow but somehow got two Midlands Monkeys commentating

As I did when we were relegated to the isthmian league in 2008 When you support the club, you support them during the bad times and the good. And I'll be going to all the remaining games this season. I apologise to no one whatsoever for not being fickle.

I travel an hour to get to GGL and watching this season has just caused so much frustration, I need to stop for my wellbeing. Sutton right now is like having a mate who's gone completely off the rails and is acting like a maniac. Doesn't mean I need to get dragged down with them. I'll be there for them when they sort their crap out and start behaving properly again! I've been watching Sutton off and on for 35 years, with periods of going to every game, and periods of missing whole seasons, but never have I seen a Sutton side so frustrating to watch. In 99/00 we were just out of our depth and I missed 08 thankfully, but our playing style and defending in the first half of the season was garbage, and our inability to win tight games and utter lack of goalscoring threat in the second half has been equally demoralising.

If anyone wishes to maintain the path of optimism and 'anything may happen' then good for them. But may I respectfully suggest that it is no longer questioned, or even considered a mark of weak disloyalty, why some (or many) of us begin now to largely focus on next season?
However sunny natured or hardcore you are, surely it cannot be hard to understand.

It must be very nice being a supporter of a hugely successful team but I have supported Sutton United all of my life because it was where I was born and grew up , it was my local team . That will never change no matter what League we are in , through good and bad . We will get over this season in time and we will look back very fondly on our first two seasons as an EFL club . Who knows , we may well be back , I certainly hope so , but I just think we need to be realistic about next season too . With regards to SM , I’m not his biggest supporter but I will continue to hope that he can turn things around in the summer and lead us to success next season .

SM has failed. One win since he took over. He just didn't have the right players. I have really enjoyed watching Sutton as a Football league team. Not looking forward to the National league.

Football and sport in general is about highs and lows. Mostly lows. If you didn’t have poor results the good ones would mean nothing. Most clubs go through hard times including our near neighbours Chelsea and AFC Wimbledon.
I have been going to Sutton for several decades and will continue to do so until I physically cannot get to the ground anymore.

So you only go when we're doing well. Thanks for confirming. Um, sure. Funny, I seem to remember us being a midtable isthmian side for the years in the mid 90s when I went to almost every game home and away. Not to mention another maybe 15 seasons where sutton didn't win anything and I went to majority home games and as many as I could away. If you're looking for a glory supporter to chastise, you're looking in the wrong place. Sure, there are plenty of supporters who've been to way more games than me but sutton are my only team, and have been since 93/94. Most of the times I've missed have been due to working Saturdays or playing football myself. Look around the ground next season when we're back to 1800 attending and at least you know why one of those missing thousand odd isn't there for a while. And its because they need a break from misery and frustration, rather than going back to supporting Chelsea full time like most the rest.
