Last season we bought a plethora of players with L2 experience, many of who were winners in the previous season. How did that end up? With the second batch under SM we ended as one of the form sides in the division, another couple of matches and we would have escaped. |

I wouldn't think Jackson would be captain. A good player but I don't think he'd be right.

4 Keepers - Rose, Arnold, Kerby & Sims
7 Defenders - Sowunmi, Jackson, Taylor, Williams, Vaz, French & Ransom
6 Midfielders - Coley, De Silva, Odelusi, Harris, Boateng, Sivi, Simper & Wadham
2 Forwards - Davies & Rush.
Taking Tume off as he’s on pre season with the academy so guessing he’ll be more involved with them rather then the first team.
Also there is a very good chance i’ve missed someone off or popped someone in the wrong position so sorry in advance! 😄

SM is putting together a wildcard side, it really could be anything, but it is very risky, especially with litterally no goals at this level in the team so far. Will Davies scored 5 goals for York last season. So by definition there isn’t ‘literally no goals at this level’. It’s a risky strategy, but we’re signing young players who are ambitious who have been proving themselves at previous clubs and want to push on. Compared to the last couple years of signing players because they’re available and may have some experience at the level we were at, regardless of the team’s overall needs, our current strategy for signings seems to be better thought out and coherent |

I don't really have a clue how good the players we've signed are and how the season will pan out.
But, and it's quite a bit but, one pleasing aspect is that our transfer business seems to have been conducted much earlier than last year and, unlike then, we don't appear to have the number of injury/fitness issues that continued to plague the squad at the start of 23/24. Hopefully, this will enable us to come out of the traps flying when the serious action starts. Admittedly, we did so against Notts County but sadly that proved to be a false dawn.

It’s a nice feeling to go into preseason training and fixtures with a decent amount of signings already made. It looks as though we have a squad already, unlike say last summer, where we were going into our first few preseason games with a lot of uncertainty player wise. In my opinion it was a little embarrassing for a club of our league status to have as many trailists playing in preseason games. (Maybe I’m too petty). We have a long list of preseason games against opponents who should be competitive with an established team. Hopefully some strong performances, as opposed to last summer, will bode well for the season ahead |

Had a feeling he might get some minutes pre-season with the first team. Well I follow the academy on Instagram who have gone somewhere abroad for a preseason camp and he is with them. So, I am assuming he will not be with the first team come preseason. Could be wrong as maybe he’ll link up with the 1st Team after but my guess is, if he was going to feature for the 1st Team more this season he’d not be with the academy side on a preseason camp. |

Ages of new signings in brackets - average 23. We had a decent crop of home grown youngsters in Gray, Bailey, Nurse team but doubt it was to the extent we’ve gone here. |
