We played alot better second half. Charlie looked lively when he came on. Thought mckoy made more fouls than all the fouls in the ryman league put together. I wanted to send him off! Thought defence played excellent considering constant pressure. We could have nicked it in the second half. Good result.

A hard fought point against a Bobbins team who were clearly determined not to be turned over a second time. Kevin Beaney was the best player on the pitch, unfortunately. Disappointed that Charlie Taylor was sacrificed to the 4-5-1, having scored twice against the same opposition in the last game! He certainly made a difference when he came on with Steve Watts for the last 15 mins. I think the Hawes family must have had a bang up New Year party - it's the only explanation I can give for what was going on in both full back positions.
Four points from the two games - I'll take that.

First half was the worst U's performance I have seen this season, it was just plain awful poor passing and the total inability to win a single header. The Bobbins were extremely unlucky not to be 2 up at HT, Oh and Yes the Hawes brothers and in particular Billy, the term shank comes to mind?
2nd Half much better we competed started wining headers and putting pressure on their midfield and we were the better side. CT surely must still of been feeling the effects of his pull last week as I cannot imagine why he would not of started even in a 4-5-1, didn't he make a difference? Watts did a fine job in the last 20mins just what we were missing in the first half and maybe he should of started the game then been subbed later?
In the end 0-0 was a fair result and we cannot complain about 4pts from 6 in our 2 games, but our first and second half performances today show how Jekyll and Hyde we are at the moment.
Did not see much from Mckoy, and for me MOTM for us was AJ for keeping his head at the back in that 1st half and also managing to get a header in on goal.

We were not at the races in the first half and gave far too many free-kicks away in our half. They almost scored from two of them and tbh, I was happy it was 0-0 at ht.
The second half we were alot better and the intro of Taylor certainly gve us a more attacking threat.
Robins certainly put their Boxing Day nightmare behind them and Beaney had a good if not spectacular game, while Stevens looked dangerous when he drifted into the middle.
MOM for U's for me was AJ and I thought Scrivs had his usual solid game. New boy Nick McKoy has not played much this season but he needs to cut out the challenges from behind. Cobbsy's booking means another suspension.
Finally, Rob on their forum refers to GGL as a shithole. Well, he should know because he spends his time standing in one every home game. Other than a new turnstyle block & a new set of loos (the gent's has just 2 urinals), what else is there? Oh, a tea bar - we've got two of them (3 on Boxing Day). Still the service was good.
The covered terrace is impressive but still offers a restricted view of the touchline from the halfway line downwards (or upwards depending on what end your team is attacking).
If these improvements are what PD was talking about in his annual review, then I can see why some Robins fans are unhappy with all the other changes they have had to endure. A new TBar, entrances and a loo against the change of colours, badge etc, what would you take?

I queued up for food for a good 20/25 minutes, could they not pay for a burgervan to help out too?! We did for them.

Rather a dull game. Nick McKoy isn't the midfielder we need. AJ needs to get back to left back as soon as possible for although he deputies well at centre back i feel the team is unbalanced.I've never rated James Hawes as a full back although Billy does a good job usually. I thought Carshalton were a poor team and were there for the taking if we could get past the two centre backs who were good in both games.
