BTW, same ref today as last season's fixture at Robins. Thought he did well again - was one of the best last season.
And while being disparaging of their facilities, I have to say the pitch looked good. I think both clubs did well to get these matches on considering the recent weather conditions.

Well give Carshalton their dues, they were certainly the better team in the first half. Like frakey, at half time I would have taken a 0-0. We just didn't get going in the first half, it did look like we had a hangover.
2nd half had a bit more bite to it, and we started taking a bit more control about 5 mins before the triple substitution. Out of the 3 subs, the most effective I thought was Danny Phillips - everytime he had the ball there was a chance of something coming out of it. By the end of the game, I was slightly disappointed we didn't nick a goal.
Next up is Horsham, one of our bigger threats below us. Lets hope we can inject a bit more consistency in our game for 2010. We're still very much in contention, and Ks V Tooting draw helped us today.
Oh and Frakey, you forgot they'd obviously spunked the rest of their improvement money on stupid signs as well. It must be an odd feeling for someone like PD having 1000+ people at a game thinking you are a total jerk...

I was disapointed to see both Danny Phillips and Charlie Taylor on the bench. It made a big difference when they came on, and to be honest I think the substitution was far too late. Wasn't impressed with McKoy at all.

The table is very tight, just about anyone could get themselves into playoff contention with a couple of wins. 2ND from bottom Ricay have 8 games in hand over 2nd place Hastings and 6 over 3rd Kingstonian and if they win half of them they would be knocking on the play off door. 16th Place Hendon would join us on 30pts if they won their 2 games in hand, its quite incredible really?

The footballing equivalent of watching chimps fling their sh*t at each other to be frank. Dreadful dreadful game with little or no skill at all on display and to make things worse we were 2nd best pretty much all afternoon.
Awful.
Christ, I sound like Billy......

4 from 6 I will take that and it is all that matters come the end of the season.
Well done the club as a whole, bragging rights are again ours.

I didn't think the performance was as bad as some of the posts on here suggest. Not a classic admittedly, but I thought we were on top for the majority of the game - save for a 15 minute spell at the end of the 1st half where we were lucky not to concede.
Although we didn't start carving out proper chances until the triple sub, I can see the logic in keeping more attacking players like Danny, Charlie and Wattsy on the bench. The game was always going to be a battle and those three could easily have created a goal as Bobbins' legs started tiring.
4 points from 6, I think we'd have all taken that.

I am getting too old for the drinking game.................
A point stolen by Sutton who should have been at least 2 - 0 down at HT and that's not counting the stonewall penalty.
Their dead ball merchant, was it the 6? was very good and the 11 was not bad either.
Things improved (as usual) when Watts and Taylor came on.A ricochet could have given us a win late on but that would have been a travesty.Wouldn't it ?

I think Taz pretty much summed the game up in terms of quality.
Still lets look at the positives. We are unbeaten in 2010 and have yet to concede a goal!
Lets kick on from here. The play offs are still in reach if we can finally put a run of wins together.
One tea hut was poor today but the burger was worth the wait. Could also drink beer outside which should please a couple of people who post on here. Shame it was bovril weather really.

Most of us who were there today must realise that if the team continue to play like this then there will be no chance of us making the play-offs. But we also know that there's enough quality in the squad for us to have won this game. Overall the match was a poor advert for Ryman League football. We got worse as the first half wore on, and Carshalton twice came close to scoring before half-time. We didn't get our passing game together, and (as Frakey said) conceded too many free kicks. We did improve in the second half, but didn't really look as if we might win until after the three substitutions (Gargan, Hann and Pouton giving way to Watts, Taylor and Phillips). Even then we hardly tested their keeper, and our best chance came five minutes from time when the ball rebounded across the face of the home goal but with no Sutton player on hand to put it away. A draw wasn't a bad result from this match, but the pressure's now on to win the next one. If we fail to take three points from that then it would be one win in six - not nearly good enough.
