Another great result. Happy days. I wish I had gone to Waltham Abbey rather than Millwall! How many Us fans made the trip?

The attendance was 179 today- their 2nd highest of the season (after 187 v Wealdstone!), but their highest Saturday gate so far this season (they are yet to play Dartford at home though) - any guesses how many were us? 40? 50?

Sorry, people on here consistently underestimate our travelling support. It was easy to count U's fans yesterday, essentialy it was one long line snaking round 3 sides of the fence during the first half. There were 79 fans standing (I may have missed a few if they were getting a tea) plus some in the stand, plus one dog, , total Sutton contingent was around 90-95 and the actual number of people in the ground was around 140-150.

That's really good. When there's a ratio like that it must feed through to the players. I've only been to a few away games, and they have tended to be the bigger ones... Bobbins, Staines p/o, hampton. But I think back to that hampton game and I'm really sure that the numbers and noise helped the team step up. Am definitely going to do Kingston. Hopefully that will be another good turn out too.

Was it that boring for you Co Sec, that you had to count the crowd? What percentage wore blue socks?

Noise? Did we make any yesterday? Not sure we did.
Just read the NL Daily report from Mr Bird. What a load of rubbish. Abbey carved out just 2 chances in the whole game, one a free-kick & were gifted their goal. Yes, they competed well but I could never see them scoring. The pen was harsh but only one side looked to win the game yesterday & they prevailed.

Not that bored, it was just so onvious that most of the spectators were from Sutton and the layout of the ground made it easy to count. I'm not obsessed by statistics, but for the record approx 4.37% stroked the dog.

No surprise that the same report finds itself on the Waltham Abbey website wafc.net/

Dont forget that 72.4% of all statistics are made up on the spot...

And the other 52.9% are miscalculated.

Didn't think the ground was that bad in the end. Certainly would prefer to go there than say Margate or Ashford.
Knew it would be a tough game where we'd just have to stick to the task at hand and take what came our way. The pen was a bit fortunate though.
3 more points in the bag most importantly. If we can make these couple of games in hand count I think we'll be pretty much there with regards to a PO place.....

For the remarkable moment where Durham got their first points of the season. Superb stuff. If it's running slow I suggest switching HD OFF which is on the right of the video player:

No one has mentioned how tight the pitch was It must be the smallest in the league. This did not help our wingers who found space hard to find. Still, we won while not playing that well. That will give the management something to work on as it seems if we win in style we normally cock it up come the following game.

The first Durham goal is an absolute belter and the away fans celebrations after the penalty with them legging it across the stand & down the steps chased by the steward had me in stitches. ;D
