We need to be more clinical in front of goal mind. Its that final ball, I been saying it for ages now if we had that we would have been 3 up in most games we played by half time. I think B Hawes has got better as the season has gone on and its not his fault the team don't make more of his long throws?

Medibot, do you actually watch the games Apart from a couple of sliced balls forward Billy Hawes won tackle after tackle, beat taller men in the air and was full of energy, and got in 2 or 3 good crosses. It seems to me that he gets criticised because we aren't scoring from his long throws. Aye. This post is spot on.

We were bound to lose at some point, Shame it was against the K's!
Now finally i can stop dreaming of winning the league!
Thought we've been running out of steam for a while (Regarding our unbeaten stretch) and todays performance was like others recently.
Heard a whisper of a Taz/Duke match day radio programme called FU.FM is this really true? Ha! Ha!

Not the best of matches with K's niggling tactics constantly slowing the match down.Billy did OK but his brother is not at the standard required. I assume that we came looking for a draw with the line up we started with but Watts needs someone with him to feed off his flicks and nods.K's were well marshalled at the back and picked up most balls in the air and we need to rethink our tactics if we meet them in the play offs.I'd still like to see Billy Dunn on the bench as he was a good impact player and also we seem to be short of forwards at the moment.AJ is not a striker but put him on the wing and he's something special.

Obviously very disappointing to lose to close rivals, and end our unbeaten run (although I didn't think that would last to the end of the season). It was the manner of the defeat, as much as the defeat itself, that was such a blow. I take two positives from the game. 1. We actually got it played, and for that we must be grateful for the Kingsmeadow pitch. Six Ryman Premier games were called off today (including Wealdstone's - they now have nine league games to play in less than three weeks). Our fixture pile-up is looking less scary than it might. 2. We were certainly not outclassed, and if we have to return to Kingsmeadow in the play-offs we can do so without fear. Boreham Wood and Hastings both won today to close the gap on us. But the teams they beat, Canvey Island and Tooting & Mitcham, are now virtually out of the play-off chase. We go to Canvey next Saturday, and they won't have a great deal to play for. Kingstonian, on the other hand, entertain Dartford - who might just be poised to clinch the title.

I usually come on here expecting to read some completely one-eyed verdicts but today I genuinely thought we didn't get the rub of the green. Last 20 minutes, there was only one team in it. A really strong performance all round, and I honestly felt we deserved better.

TBH. I thought the game was a virtual replay of the one at ours. We started slowly, they had a lot of the ball and created feck all until we gifted 'em their first goal. Only difference was we f*cked up again after we'd deservedly levelled to give 'em the win. Bitty game overall. Neither side really did enough to win the game for me and a draw would have been right, we just made the mistakes. As for Traynor, anyone remember him actually having a kick before the 93rd minute? Sort of forward we need. Although we'd probably have subbed him around the hour mark. As for the ref, I thought he was shite. Some of the decisions first half were bollocks & the booking for Billy's first challenge was fecking ridiculous. After that he spent 80 minutes ignoring their 11 and 4 klicking the f*ck out of everything in a yellow shirt. For example, how did they avoid a booking yet poor Matt Gray got a poxy card for the one challenge he made in the entire game? Utter bellend. We looked a bit tired and I'm disappointed the run ended, but if we've got to play that lot in a play-off final, we've got nothing to be scared of whatsoever. Just don't make poxy mistakes and we'll win. Simple!

It seems to me that he gets criticised because we aren't scoring from his long throws. To be honest, as you may have guessed, I was pissed and annoyed about the result when I wrote that and as a catch all comment it was harsh on Billy who suffers more from not being Alan Bray rather than being a particularly bad player. James though, adds nothing but confusion and a total lack of attacking threat. It feels like we have ten men sometimes. I would pick every other midfielder at the club over him. As for the long throws, if we had multiple utterly ineffective shots on goal every game we'd drop the person shooting or get them to stop doing it. I see the long throws in the same way, it's stubborn and idiotic. Maybe it's because I play a sport (Korfball) where you mix things up a bit more from set pieces i see the multiple possibilities (especially when the opposition are EXPECTING a long throw) and I'd like to see them explored. I stand by my comments about the psychological motivation the defeat will give us for any play-off meeting with K's though.

Tight game from which we should have got a point. Thought both teams at times looked a bit weary. Good turn-out from the fans. Thought the ref did not punish persistant fouling but reacted to particular individual incidents with an immediate card. If our performance had merrited a defeat then I would have been more upset but the unbiased views are that we should have a got a draw. How Charlie missed that goal-line chance I am not sure. The linesman appeared to be indicating something but the Non League paper makes no mention of offside or any other infringement so I assume it was a valid open goal miss. If we play Cray on Monday, we will obviously need to be totally focussed. Quite rightly the team believe they can beat anyone in this league and that clearly is the case. My main concern is that we are looking a bit leggy and I am sure Dos has this in mind with his squad rotation.
