I think we'll have a strong run-in to the play-offs and will be able to rest some players. We play teams in 11th and 14th place once, and 16th and 17th place twice. No big teams that are gunning for a play-off place. Cray have a particular leaky defence. Billericay have a weak attack. I think we can use these facts to rest players selectively - 2nd place is still easily gettable. Against Billericay we have to look after goal scorer Billy Bricknell who is back after mising 2 months. OH

was always going to be a hard game, and from what i saw, we were unlucky. This was one game i was glad to miss, mainly for some of their more moronic fans. Sounds like they repeated what they did at ggl by just slagging sutton off rather than cheer their own team on. Thats not support, thats having a chip on the shoulder. Mainly for millsy, am at the hawthorn geelong afl game at the mcg. Hawks 63 40 up at half time! If you're still there or near any Geelong fans, ask them about Gary Ablett - they'll be impressed that you know the name. My immediate family are all Collingwood but extended family are Geelong.

Walking the dog on Box Hill yesterday, sporting the amber & chocie scarf, I got asked in a very southern accent whether I am a Hawthorn supporter. I told him I don't like girlie sports where the players are allowed to use their hands. (No, I'm not brave but I did have the dog !) We have a Hawthorn supporter as a long distance fan in a chap called Alan Marks. He emailed me earlier in the season and it transpired that there were a host of coincidences. His father lived in Sutton Common Road and played for Sutton Churches; when Alan got bored of watching premiership fooball he googled the Hawthorn colours and came up with Sutton United. Alan was due to watch us in February as he made a detour from a business trip to Berlin, sadly our game was postponed. Ron and Eileen kindly opened the club shop as a special favour and he was able to buy some memorabilia to take back to Oz.
