We have played worse and won this season but I suppose allowing the league's top scorer through on goal in the last min was only gonna end with one result!
We played well yesterday and arguably our best two players on the pitch made the two costly errors.
Still, I enjoyed the game, helped by a decent surface and not helped by the K's fans. Why is it they spent most of the game singing anti-Sutton songs rather than sing for their own team? Still, they did it at our place, sad bunch if you ask me.
I'm glad Medibot has retracted his comment about Billy Hawes as I thought he had a good game yesterday & put 3 or 4 excellent crosses in.
Bearing in mind we were missing Hann, Gargan, Bray and could only expect 20 mins out of Sonny then I thought we did rather well. FQ was also carrying an injury.
If that is to be the dress-rehearshal for the main event and there are no guarantees that it will be, I just hope our fortune changes. We've presented all 3 goals to K's (although Huckle & then Traynor still had to finish).
Bounce back tomorrow lads - if the game is played!

What a bunch of morons. It calmed down a bit after my mate complained to the police at half time.Have a look at page 26 of the programme if you have one.I would hate to be watching with young children in tow.
I was saddened to see our supporters resorting to obscene chanting behind the goal late in the game.

The one that ended with 'f***ing s***'? It could be argued that was a bit too strong. I didn't join in personally.

Returning to the Taylor miss, the linesman is in the NLP's photo and isn't signalling anything at the point at which Charlie is about knock the ball in to the net....or not. By the way, website report will be online a bit earlier than anticipated (hopefully within the next twenty minutes or so), but I agreed with Dos that I would speak to him after tomorrow's game to cover both Easter games.
And, nothing to do with this thread but probably not worth opening a separate one, have been staying near Maidstone over the weekend and their local paper suggests that Maidstone are hoping to share Chatham's ground next season.

Saw that too. However, they apparently had a 3 year agreement with Ashford, so not sure what will happen.

The impression, albeit from reading the article quite quickly, was that Ashford have no problem with the idea because of the mess it's made of their pitch and the effect that's had on them as well as Maidstone.

If at all possible we have to try and engineer a play-off semi-final against a team other than K's or Angels I can see Tonbridge getting 3rd, 4th or 5th (or hopefully 6th). Shouldn't really waste energy with "what ifs" as what will be will be.

I think we'll have a strong run-in to the play-offs and will be able to rest some players. We play teams in 11th and 14th place once, and 16th and 17th place twice. No big teams that are gunning for a play-off place. Cray have a particular leaky defence. Billericay have a weak attack. I think we can use these facts to rest players selectively - 2nd place is still easily gettable.

I thought our singing was great! Especially "shall we buy a pump for you?" when the balls kept going soft. Think Dos appreciated the volume, too.
Anyway, if the K's fans are going to start singing "Sutton are sh*t" (even before the kick off) they can hardly expect us to come back with a rendition of "All You Need Is Love".
Apart from the final result I enjoyed the whole day.

was always going to be a hard game, and from what i saw, we were unlucky. This was one game i was glad to miss, mainly for some of their more moronic fans. Sounds like they repeated what they did at ggl by just slagging sutton off rather than cheer their own team on. Thats not support, thats having a chip on the shoulder. Mainly for millsy, am at the hawthorn geelong afl game at the mcg. Hawks 63 40 up at half time!

Walking the dog on Box Hill yesterday, sporting the amber & chocie scarf, I got asked in a very southern accent whether I am a Hawthorn supporter. I told him I don't like girlie sports where the players are allowed to use their hands. (No, I'm not brave but I did have the dog !)

Against Billericay we have to look after goal scorer Billy Bricknell who is back after mising 2 months.
