Taz is right, statistically we are nor further forward than we were this time last year. Yes, we finished 2nd easily and didn't have to rely on a last 10 minutes of the season penalty to get in to the play offs, but we were easily (in the end) beaten in the play off semi final. The one big difference is that we went to Staines last year expecting what inevitably happened, this year we expected the exact opposite versus K's. That's what makes me feel pig sick every time I think about it today - pissed off, doesn't even begin to describe it!

Sadly, the aim this season wasn't to 'improve', it was to go up. And having spent 9 months working away & earning the right to contest 2 more games to achieve that aim, we fell well short. Besides, we haven't improved at all have we? We got dicked in a PO semi. Exactly the same as last year. And we're still in the Flipping Ryman League. With all the Flipping Ryman League chortling it's cods off at us. Had we made the final & got done, THEN we'd have improved. I'm sorry, I don't care what you say, but bollocks to looking on the bright side. As far as I'm concerned, there ain't one..... Yes Taz, I know we fucked it up at the end and you know and I know and most importantly so does Dos. But i'm sorry who gives a monkey's cuss if some of the more tinpot Ryman League supporters are chortling the cods off us. Fine. Personally I don't give a sh*t. But not a god damn thing is going to change the result of last night, so whats left? Looking forward is whats left. Obviously you are passionate about our team as much as I or anyone else is, and its pretty obviously you need a lot longer than most to get over last night. But I hope it happens sooner rather than later, and hopefully before next Tuesday, then you may enjoy a Sutton game before the end of the season.

I cannot every remember feeling this sick over a football match and I have seen a few bad ones in my time. I maybe a bit sad and need therapy but I fell asleep last night thinking about it, I woke up in the night thinking about it and have felt pig sick all day.
I CAN HONESTLY SAY THIS IS THE LOWEST I HAVE EVER BEEN OVER A SODDING FOOTBALL MATCH!!!

I know passions are running high at the moment and we're all hurting, but I do have to disagree with some of the observations made about our second half display last night.
From the 10th to the 45th minute I thought we were superb; indeed we could have done enough to win the tie during that period. Had it not been for an excellent save just before the interval, that may well have been the case.
In the second half K's simply played better than we did and scored three excellent goals (one of them truly outstanding) which won them the game. Give them the credit for that. There was absolutely no shortage of effort from anyone wearing a yellow shirt last night at any stage. Every player gave his all. On another day, as had happened on no fewer than 11 previous occasions this season, we could have seen out another 2-1 win and now been looking forward to a final on Saturday. That's football.
A few of my mates turned up to watch and thought it was a belter of a high-octane game played the wholehearted way the game should be played. Played in front of the sort of crowd we want to be seeing more often down the Lane. Time is a great healer, and if you're made of the right stuff, it also makes you even more determined to succeed.

My views may come across as being less than concerned aout last night, but you'll have to excuse that as I've had a rather more difficult occurrence to worry about this week.
Anyway, some of the negativity on here is quite appalling. Of course we've improved. We finished second for a start & for Taz to say we flatterd to deceive in some games (or words to that effect) is crazy. You don't lose just 3 in 25 league games without having some quality in the side.
The second half they took Huckle off and brought Lodge on. That help expose us dow the left, where all three goals came from. Danny P had made Huckle look awful in the first half so Dowson should take credit for making that change.
As soon as they equalised the momentum was with them & Traynor's first was quite outstanding - I'm not sure another player in the RLP would have been capable of that. His second was pretty good too.
However, I've enjoyed this season again - especially away from the Lane where 12 wins is an excellent return. If we can combine last season's home form with this season's away form I reckon we'll be there or there abouts.
One thing though we really need that consistent forward who scores at least every other game. We have no problem scoring from all around the pitch but the added 20 goal a season man wouldn't do us any harm. Sam Gargan worked his socks off for U's this season but often sacrificed his main objective as a forward for the team, particularly when he played up front on his own.
Onto the SSC Final now - let's get something out of the season - Dos, the team and we, the fans, deserve to.

Correction mate, Huckle was ill so thats why he came off at half time, listen to Dowse's interview on our website. And it was Luke I'Anson who came on for him

Just a poor second half performance thats all.
Hope we can go on and destroy Godalming Town on tuesday.
Give us fans a chance to show our applause to Dos and the team.

Whatever Smithy, it was a significant change with regards the course of he match (all 3 goals coming from your right wing, where K's had produced little from in the first half).

I mentioned we should try and get a left back on loan when AJ got injured.

I mentioned we should try and get a left back on loan when AJ got injured. That was a big problem on Tuesday. They changed their shape and pushed Matty Gray further up on the right. The previous game and a half he was virtually non existent. AJBray would have helped and maybe the cross would not have come over for Traynor's wonder goal. He would probably not have got through as easily for the fourth either. Still 'ing

I mentioned we should try and get a left back on loan when AJ got injured. Yep! Left back is a specialist position and even big clubs such as Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea all struggle when their first choices are out. AJ is the best LF in the league and not only that he is one of the bravest and he would have been on patrol in the areas where all 3 second half K's came from. Traynor may well have caught that volley superbly but if AJ had of been playing its 50/50 whether it was the ball or AJ's head.

I mentioned we should try and get a left back on loan when AJ got injured. We did try, very hard actually and one of my colleagues lost a whole afternoon of work trying to get resolved before the deadline, just didn't quite happen unfortunately. Pure semantics now though.
