Great game last night, helped by Horsham's approach. What a refreshing change to the way Concord set their stall out last Sat.
We had a great balance with Brad and Fola on the wings and the attacks were pacey and direct. The 2 goal margin flattered Horsham - how many times have we hit the woodwork this season already?
I thought the ref didn't have the best of nights failing to punish Horsham's stop'em if the go past tactic in the first half and as a result not being in a position to caution Tom Davis for his late challenge in the first half. As for the early penalty shout it was a clear foul. He didn't wave play on either so therefore I sugest that he just ignored the challenge altogether. The inability to play advantage on a couple of occasions didn't help either.
However, the performance and the points was the main issue tonight and we got both.
As for Billy, your response to a helpful reply just sums you up mate. As I've said before if you switched on a bit more to this board or had turned up to the ground pre-season you may have not needed to ask a question that had been a major topic weeks ago.

When i got my first look at the new dug outs i thought they were a couple of holding centres for asylum seekers. Do families live in them outside of matchdays ?

They are available for rent, unfurnished except for a few plastic seats. Only running water is rainwater though. UKAEA is also considering them as nuclear fall-out shelters.

Good sleek performance last night and a fully deserved win.I can't decide whether we now have a title wining team or whether we have played crap opposition in the first two matches.I'm leaning towards a very good team but feel we may need one or two more squad players as the season wears on all be it that we have some good reserves.

I noticed the old boy in the red coat and cap who is at every game has had to move to the other side of the ground. How do these monstrosities affect the capacity ?
Please do not direct me to old threads (which i myself posted in ages ago) thankyou.I don't have time to go through them.Thankyou.

We also moved to the far side. It was better anyway. Don't think it has been mentioned but thought the support last night was excellent, particularly for mid week. Let's keep it up.
I hardly think we need to worry about capacity Billy, do you?! I don't think we are struggling to fit them in!!

But you do have time to say anyone who disagreed with your choice of man of the match has the brains of a dead ant, a far from funny comment about the dugout, and telling Rupert Scallywag to "f*ck off"

Twitter thread from the game from west Sussex CVounty Times:- www.wscountytimes.co.uk/CustomPages/CustomPage.aspx?PageID=82789 and, from West Sussex County Times web-site:- HORNETS boss John Maggs conceded his team came up against a stronger unit in last night's 2-0 defeat to Sutton United. Horsham were beaten thanks to goals from Craig Dundas and Richard Jolly, and barely mustered chances of their own in the 90 minutes. Maggs said: "We were played off the pitch in the first half and we gave away a bad goal. There was some improvement in the second half but we came up against a very strong side with a very solid defence. "We were totally committed on Saturday, but we needed a kick at half time." Pat Harding's introduction at the break, along with Jack Page, saw the Hornets win more ball in the final third, and Horsham went close with a cute chip from Allan Tait. Maggs added: "We had one or two opportunities which might have made it 1-1, but I think we have come up against a very strong squad tonight

These are the games that should be our Bread & Butter if we want to get out of this league.
Thought we done more than enough last night to get the three points.
Fola or Craig MOTM for me. I can't believe we've hit the woodwork every game this season!

Also Tonbridge went from 2-0 up at halftime to 2-3 home to Bury last night as well. So they stay bottom, Happy Times!

529 was pretty impressive for a Tuesday night. Most teams struggle to get near that on Saturday. If we keep playing like we did last night the Tuesday crowds should stay high. Comfortably dominant and composed and another clean sheet to add to Saturdays. Jolly's finish was superb and composed and now he's off the mark you can see him hitting a run of scoring form as we improve our service to him. Dundas took his goal well, sneaking under their 'keeper and causing him problem that he'd clearly not anticipated but since Dundas is the Chuck Norris of the Ryman League I'm not surprised their GK fluffed it. Fola MotM was well deserved and with BWG on the other side we can exploit sides with slow or weak left/right backs or the times in a season where the left back is actually right footed or really a midfielder. I'd like to see us highlighting weak players and exposing them as much as possible this season as at this level it's an easy route to goals but you can only do that with quality players in every position. Also if Fola is the one putting the ball in then with BWG coming in from the other wing we effectively have three strikers to hit which should increase the times we score from the chances we create and conversely, the Met Police friendly showed that Fola has an eye for goal himself. Clean sheet, both strikers off the mark, good attendance and the pitch survives another week with having to be played on during a rainstorm. Excellent
