I have just sent my thoughts and approval. Including mentioning the many benefits this will bring to all parties. Maybe it was verbal diarrhoea but at least the message will have got through. ;D

I opted to register and found getting into the right consultation area (without having seen John's guidance above) a bit of a pain. I went round in a couple of circles, but made it in the end and have left my supportive comments.

I emailed my comments to them and they responded with an email giving me a user name and password. I have since used these to complete the on line form. If you log in and then follow the links John has provided a prompt to comment on line should appear (at least it did when I looked anyway). This takes you straight to the relevant on line form.
I'd like to urge anyone who has not yet registered your support to do so when you have a few spare minutes on line. The more backing this receives the better, both for the club and the local community.

Support registered today.
Took a while to navigate but worth it in the end. Well done to the Trust for their hard work on this. KBB

Just to let you all know, following the conclusion of the consultation exercise, this proposal is going before the Council's Planning Advisory Group at 7.30pm tommorow (15/09/09) - meeting to be held in the Civic Offices. I have seen the officers' report to Councillors and whilst this is in no way a 'done deal' I can tell you that the report will be recommending that the development is adopted as part of the Council's Planning Strategy. Well done to everyone for registering their support. The result was an overwhelming positive response including replies from not only regular attendees to GGL but other interest groups such as English Heritage, Sutton Cricket Club and Natural England. What was interesting about the consultation process was that not only was there total support for the idea, but that other suggestions were made regarding access to the facility such as car parking, footpaths, toilets and a cafeteria. Whilst these are all matters that the offficers have said will require further investigation, it just goes to show what happens if you get a debate going in a public domain. Of course, as Doublebarrel has said under a different post, this is all linked to our application for FA Community Status and we are going to need a lot of help with that process. Met Police Community Fun Days, a Women's Football Day (possibly against Hastings on 13 February) and bringing the Colts into the heart of the club are all crucial to our plan so lets follow up the support you registered for the Council proposal with support for the Club's application. I will let you know how the Council meeting goes.
