Greetings Fellow Supporter
(This is quite long but please stick with it)
Many of you may be aware that over the past year your SUST representatives have been pursuing an application with the Surrey FA to achieve FA Standard - Community Status for Sutton United Football Club. We have involved the Club at all stages of this application; indeed the Board have fully endorsed our activities. In addition to this, we have also been speaking to Sutton Council about the possibility of redeveloping the Stadium in order to provide new facilities that complement our vision. Basically we are looking to re-introduce football pitches back into Collingwood Rec which would entail replacing the North Stand (the one running alongside the Rec) with a dual purpose Park Pavilion and Football Stand within the confines of our ground. We also have proposals to resite the North Stand covered terrace to the East end of the Ground.(ie behind the Collingwood Road goal) to provide a more enclosed stadium which would be covered on all four sides. Whilst in their very early stages, these ideas have been acknowledged by the Council and they have now appeared in their own Planning Strategy document.
What this means to you is that you now have the chance to comment on these proposals - and I stress they are very much 'proposals' at this stage. Below is the announcement by Sutton Council. If you follow the link you will access the Planning Document. Scroll down to D4 and you will find the proposal. Just follow the links and register your support (or otherwise) with whatever comment you wish to log.
This is a potentially very exciting opportunity for the Club to progress its ambitions and enable the site to become a fulcrum of leisure provision in the Borough. Comments must be registered by 1 September.
Conceptual drawing of what the development might look like.

Site Development Policies DPD: Additional Sites Consultation
I am writing to inform you that the London Borough of Sutton is carrying out a consultation on the Additional Sites document for its Site Development Policies Development Plan Document (DPD). Representations are being invited over a six-week period from 20 July to 1 September 2009.
The Additional Sites document has been prepared in order to provide an opportunity to comment on four additional sites which were suggested by stakeholders at the Site Development Policies DPD Preferred Options stage. The document sets out the Council’s preferred option for each site.
In line with e-government policy, I would request that you submit your response using our on-line Limehouse consultation system. Comments should be restricted to the four sites contained in this document. The document can be viewed at consult.sutton.gov.uk (this web address contains the Additional Sites document, a facility to submit your comments on line and provides links to the accompanying Sustainability Appraisal and Equalities Impact Assessment). If you do not know your username and password, please call 020 8770 6311 or email ldf@sutton.gov.uk. Responses must be received by 5pm on Tuesday 1 September 2009."
