Does anyone remember Clary our groundsman from yesteryear. He would have sorted this out. I can still remember him with his wheelbarrow. I was a ball-boy in those days Perhaps ground crew(american expression) should have their own league table. Then Clary would be in "the groundsman hall of fame. No disrespect to the current guys. Fortunately for Clary Bridge, he didn't have to work in a climate of global warming where we have monsoon-like weather, almost throughout the year! If this is going to be a long term weather change, the FA must really re-think artificial surfaces.

Scrub that. Corinthean casuals off. Chipstead leatherhead still on far as I can see. That will do me. Chipstead reported as definitely on. Not surprised, having seen the pitch hold up through torrential downpours on Boxing Day. I'll be there.

The advantages of being on chalk uplands rather than clay. Also, looking at old photographs suggests that our pitch was regularly a sea of mud back in the 1960s and is actually better now, although perhaps it is also a bit bumpier.

I'm tempted to go to the Guildford Sports Park. The weather is putting me off. Is there anyone going?

Damn it, I really thought that advection was going to save the match Oh yes the 5k heating comment was just a example that the NL game is suffering, clubs are struggling for what is peanuts to the FA /PL and the FA so to date not allowing 3g pitches. While I am moaning the new years hounours list, what a pile of pants that is? At least Danny Boyle has some class

What's wrong with honouring such people and recognising their contibution to the UK? You, a gooner too. Tradition runs through Arsenal to the core.

No surprise. Apart from the fixture pile up the clubs cash flow must be taking a real battering. Indeed! Losing two home games to the weather over the festive period is no joke. The club may be even more grateful now for the revenue from that Trophy win over Oxford City. We've managed to play only two of the seven league matches scheduled for December. One small comfort is that most of the games we'll now have to play midweek are at home. As things stand, Maidenhead is the furthest we'll have to travel for an evening game. With yet more rain forecast for next week, we'll have to keep fingers crossed for the trips to Bromley and Salisbury.

I totally agree with the St John Ambulance voluntee but in no way do I think people like Bradley Wiggins and co should be getting anything. For me the hounors list should be for people who give up time and effort for free to help others. Mr Wiggins earns millions pursuing his own aims and gives bugger all to others for nowt. TBH I think you are more deserving of recognition for the work you have put in over many years for the club for nothing.

In the meantime....
AFC Hornchurch (1) 1 0 (0) Billericay Town Chelmsford City (0) 2 1 (0) Boreham Wood Staines Town (0) 0 6 (3) Maidenhead United Tonbridge Angels (0) 0 3 (2) Bromley
If Bromley had scored 1 more, we'd have dropped below them - as it is we stay in 18th. Maidenhead tonking Staines and Bromley winning at Tonbridge just show how this league is close and unpredictable!
Chelmsford came from a goal down, with the winner scored by Kyle Vassell - a long range screamer by all accounts!
Maidenhead jump 6 places today, and in 3 games (2 wins and a draw) have gone from 20th to 9th!
An interesting result from the Ryman 1N - Heybridge 11 (ELEVEN as the old vidiprinter would say) Redbridge 0

At least Bruce & the Board, ensured that there was a "regular income" still flowing in 10 years ago when he set up Boom Boom Club, there are only a handful of clubs that had the foresight to do that !

Hadn't been to chipstead since they were in the CCL. Nice set up. Looked like they benefitted from the virtual wipe out across Surrey crowd wise. Fair play to em. They even opened up additional car parking. They had a man red carded early on but even so gave the Head a good run for their money. Best slipper I've had all season and they look a solid enough ryman south outfit.
