This all sounds very disappointing, especially about Scrivs. Finances must be really bad but at least Dos seems prepared to make hard decisions

You lot seem to make a nuisance of yourselves at regular intervals during the season. You are beginning to rival our friends from Kingstonian and are besmirching the good name of Sutton United. Why don't you try and grow up ? If you are over 14 years of age throw those silly replica shirts in the bin , sit or stand somewhere where you can actually see the game (but not near me ) and cut out the bad language. That is some top-quality trolling there Billy, you may catch a few people out with that.

Okay Billy because you said so, I don't wear a replica shirt but I will make sure I tell everyone (over the age of 14) to stop wearing them. Thank you for taking time out of your day to put us right, it is under your guidance that hopefully we can all become better fans of Sutton United.

Probably best to point out at this stage that the sutton faithful you speak of. Were in fact the ones out on the pitch with forks, brooms, towels, bounty....I mean Juan sheet to help to get the game on following the crap weather we had the night before, and during Saturday morning. Without that extra bit of help, maybe...just maybe the game might have been off! Perhaps that should be considered before you start pulling the support to pieces.

Having read a lot of this, I'm sure the next time the potty mouthed, disappointingly quiet 'hardcore' are called upon to leave the warmth of the bar and help fork the pitch to ensure you all actually have a game where you can be utterly disappointed by the lack of atmosphere and embarrassed by the terrible language, they'll all put down their pints and do the same again!
Oh wait.....
To be brutally honest, our support despite being decent in number is a vastly passionless bunch most of the time and trying to get any atmosphere going at GGL is frankly a thankless task. One I and a few others are bored of.
Over to you boys and girls. Over to you.
I hope you all have a lovely sunday.

Keep up the good work and keep us all informed about how wonderful you are !

I would always go for a more vocal approach to being at a football match, never have been one for just sitting quiet in the same place for all of 90mins. But if that is your thing then good luck to you!

That's the spirit mate , thanks ! 14 is not an absolute cut off point it's just a guide. Obviously anyone in their twenties , thirties and upwards needs a more stern word. I'm especially worried about "ladies" standing behind the goal. It's such a slippery slope. It starts with abusing goalkeepers and can often descend in later life to this........... link won't work it was Hell's Grannies ;D

But now you have reminded me...I feel so much better! Don't forget the others too Billy, all the other people that help with the club...share the thanks now Billy!! I think I might even dip into my well hard earnings and buy you a shirt ! ...or maybe not Mr Blue Square Keyboard warrior! Anyway back on track. I guess we shall have to wait and see for the official club statement with regard to the player news. I'm sure it will be released shortly.

Wow, that's some fallout from yesterday's match!!
It's comments such as Billy's that make me wonder why anybody volunteers for anything these days. Basis his thoughts on the observations of other as he's rarely around to witness anything for himself.
As for the volunteeing thing, well I did it for years but when you start getting abuse of your own fans, well, you start to think. Told "it's your job". Well, actually no, at the time my job was as a civil servant but the mouthful the fellow got from me was far my satisfying than pointing out the bleeding obvious. Just another moaner who would never lift a finger himself to help out & thinks buying a season ticket gives him the right to give a volunteer stick. I think he's still around, no doubt moaning.
And before the Ed comes on having a go at me, just remember I was writing in the prog well before he came along. Oh and a ball boy when I was a kid, gateman, supporters club sec & chairman and contributor to perhaps every publication of Touchliner for the decade and a half it existed.
Going back to the football, I've read some of the stuff on here. Christ, some people seem to think Dos doesn't know what he's doing (or that's what some of it implies). This is the guy who has pulled this club from the doldrums, so I think he needs some slack.
We have lost alot of dosh through the gate this season, mainly because of the weather and while I can't say for sure, some financial housekeeping maybe required. If this is the case, this rather limits what Dos can do and while I'm not suggesting we are the BSS paupers with the season hopefully petering out to mid table, although we need to make sure of that with a few more wins, perhaps the club is being prudent.
Or, it could be Dos has more irons in the fire. We will ave to wait and see.
I suspect this season has been a disappointment because of the previous four but if we'd been offered a mid table finish last season we would have grabbed at it. As for the players not showing committment, I find that very harsh. I thought threre was a lot of effort out there but as Steve McKimm said of the Truro game, we lacked a bit of quality at times. The team does not go out to lose matches and I think that needs to be taken into account.
And there endeth the Sunday Sermon. I'm off for tea and caks at the vicarage.

Some of you are a disgrace to the name of Sutton United.
We are all part of this historic club so start acting like it.

WOW! a lot has been said on here today, I want to clarify that I only made reference to the 'Sutton Faithful' being quiet yesterday - they were. To question whether I am part of the 'Sutton Faithful' is a bit daft really. Billy is clearly trolling being somewhat over the top with his comments. Football is a passionate game and there are no more committed and passionate supporters than U's fan, it was just a shame in my eyes that passion was reserved for chants towards an opposition player after the final whistle.
As others have mentioned some context is required when calling into question the quality and commitment of the team. Given that the club and Dos are working on a very tight budget this season a mid table is not a disaster or end of the world. Dos should be commended for the job he is doing in such difficult circumstances.
I am sure it was just frustration at the end of the game yesterday, from lets face it some if not the best supporters in the league.
A win against 'Ricay' will probably secure our BBS place for next season, the playoffs have gone so it makes sense to save money now and build for next season.
Not only we have the best fans, we also have the best Chairman and best Manager in the league.

So from reading dos' comments from yesterday it's confirmed Harry o and boats have gone as we've not been able to agree terms for next season, I'd guess we've been negotiating since when rentzy and dundo agreed theirs. A shame certainly regarding Harry o but we don't know the ins and outs of the offer/what the player wants so can't really speculate, he looks like becoming a good player, but still young and plenty to learn.
Good luck Harry
