Now we are getting to the last few weeks of the season, it's worth looking at who we could be playing next season....
Coming down - With some sides the BSS only having 3 games to play, it's looking more and more like only one side from the BSS could be playing in our league next year, and that is Ebbsfleet (which if I'm right we've only played them as Gravesend and Northfleet). They are 11 points from safety with only 5 games left to play. They'll need a lot of luck and an amazing run to prevent relegation. The other 3 relegation spots are held by teams who will go into the Conference North - infact the nearest team that could go directly into the South currently sit in 13th (Cambridge) and only need 2 points to be mathematically safe from relegation.
Coming up? Ryman league - Any teams from the following have a realistic chance of being in the play offs - Whitehawk, Wealdstone, Lowestoft, Concord, Margate, Met Police, Canvey, Bury and East Thurrock. Whitehawk probably are looking good for the title, but Lowestoft, currently in 3rd have 5 games in hand, and are 15 points behind. Of course, if Lowestoft goes up, they are likely to go to the Conference North. Evo-Stick South - Bit less clear this one, although Leamington are looking good for the title, 11 points clear with 6 left to play. They will also go north but with sides like Gosport, Weymouth, St Albans, Arlesey, Chesham, Hemel Hempstead, Cambridge City and Bedford all in the mix, they could all go into the South if they go up.
Sideways The way things could pan out, it could mean at least 1 side may move from North to South - Histon, Stortford, Oxford, Worcester and Gloucester could all move, with Stortford and Oxford being the most likely.

Nice work andy. I know for a fact that bishops stortford are desperate to get into BSS as the north fixtures are killing them financially and on the players front they are even losing key men to ambitious clubs in the Essex league.

Bit of an update for you.... Ebbsfleet have been relegated, and will need a lot of clubs to go out of business for them to get a reprieve, so they will be in the BSS next season. All the other teams that could go down will all be BSN sides. Barrow and Telford have gone, and then one of Stockport, Tamworth or Gateshead. In the Southern, Leamington are 1 point away from being crowned champions, with Stourbridge and Chesham in play offs. They will be joined by any two of Hemel Hempsted, Barwell, Gosport and Arlesley. Leamington will go to the North, and so would Barwell and Stourbridge if they win the play offs. All others would go in the South. In the Ryman, Whitehawk have nearly done it, and will do with a point at the weekend. As for play off places, Wealdstone, Lowestoft and Concord look shoe-ins, being joined by any of Canvey, East Thurrock, Met Police, Margate, Bury and possibly Hendon. One could expect that if Lowestoft or Bury win the play off, they would go North. So at the moment, the South will be losing five teams and gaining a maximum of 4 (Say Ebbsfleet, Whitehawk and one each possibly from Rym and Southern). Even in that scenario, there's an imbalance so I think we can expect a shift of a side from North to South - I'd expect that side to be Stortford, but it could be up to 3, then Histon, Oxford, Gloucester and Worcester could all be in the mix. Especially if Histon get relegated which is still possible. For the groundhoppers there could be a couple of new grounds to tick off! Oh Carshalton are still bottom

After their 1-0 defeat at a much delayed match at Weston, we say goodbye to Billericay today, last seasons Ryman league winners. Hornchurch didn't join them today, but they have to win against Hayes on the last day of the season, and hope that Tonbridge lose both games - against Truro and Eastbourne. Bromley losing to Maidenhead (where Mr Pacquette scored twice) means that only Tonbridge or AFCH can go down. All other sides are safe.
At the other end, Welling failing to beat Boreham Wood and Salisbury smashing Havant mean that Welling have still not secured the title, but will do if Salisbury fail to beat us on Monday. With us, Chelmsford, Eastleigh and Weston all winning, places 4-7 stay the same as they did this morning.
In the Evo Stick south, Leamington won the league today, with Stourbridge and Chesham both secured in a play off spot. Hemel, Gosport, Barwell and Arlesey will fight for the 2 remaining spots.
In the Ryman, it's still not quite settled at the top. Lowestoft have 3 games in the next 7 days to pull a rabbit out of the hat and overhaul Whitehawk. 6 points behind with a game in hand (although will be 2 when Whitehawk play Leiston tomorrow)- Wealdstone and Concord have got play off spots but the last one (currently East Thurrock)could still be between 7 sides.
Carshalton have one game left (at Enfield town) - All the other sides around them have at least 1 extra game to play before then, so Carshalton could go into their next game already relegated....

Looking a bit further down the guernsey situation must be unprecedented. They are fifteen points behind Egahm in the CCL with six games in hand and have to play eleven games in sixteen days including four on the bounce over May Day weekend. As the ryman north and south are being extended they could still get promoted if they come second as it will be two out of of five runners up from the five feeder leagues based on goals per game. With their resources we could well be meeting them in the fairly near future assuming their progress doesn't get blocked by the losgistics issue.

Colliers Wood United play Guernsey on Wednesday evening at Cobham FC 7.45pm. That's if you can drag yourselves away from the Champions League garbage!

I see whitehawks ground has now been improved to BSS standard. Instead of moving to withdean they have instead bought some of the seating, turnstiles and other kit left behind by Brighton and have shipped them down the road to the other side of town. The economics of the club are interesting. They are apparently playing some players a grand a week plus on gates of less than 200 with the backing of a major building industry player. Sounds familiar but a great away trip in prospect none the less.

If Thurrock and Wingate get a win each in one of their last 2 games and Lewes get 2 draws (or one win), the Bobbins will be relegated, regardless of their result on Saturday

As we say goodbye to the two sides promoted from the Ryman last season, we welcome for the first time Whitehawk, who were confirmed as champions as 2nd and 3rd place Wealdstone and Lowestoft fought a 0-0 draw.
So as it stand at the moment - bye bye Welling, Truro, Billericay and Hornchurch. Hello to - Ebbsfleet, Whitehawk
Possibly joined by - Lowestoft/Wealdstone/Concord/East Thurrock/Met Police and Hemel, Gosport, Arlesey or Chesham.

Good thread this one here! Interesting to see the teams that could possibly join us! In the Ryman - the final play-off place could be guaranteed tonight if East Thurrock win. Would it be definite that Lowestoft go to the North if they get through the play offs?

Would it be definite that Lowestoft go to the North if they get through the play offs? No,it’s about road links and travelling north from Lowestoft would be very slow. I would not be surprised if they came south.

Interesting! Must be looking to take the points penalty now, where it won't matter, so they can start next season with a clean sheet (assuming someone bails them out)

Interesting indeed, can only be five or six years since Farnborough Town went pop. That white elephant stand at the Cherrywood end now looks like some elaborate, mildew-crusted grave stone erected by someone with a sick sense of humour. Anyways I thought that Spencer, who according to Wikipedia is one of the richest men in Surrey and owns a large chunk of the Kingston waterfront, was manager and chairman? Be outrageous if they were allowed to take the points hit when its irrelevant.

Of course, depending on the severity of the situation, they may "withdraw" from the league. Which means we'll be going to back to Hornchurch next season.
