Maybe the loan signings will be with us next year. Maybe they are better, they are certainly cheaper.

We do seem a more solid team with the new players on board. Two tricky away game 6 points and none against. You can't ask more than that.

Great result in dire conditions. That wind in the second half was epic. Which the game wasn't but was never going to be with the heavy pitch, a gale swirling around and occasional horizontal rain driving across the pitch. Great finish by JT and Stoke will feel aggrieved after hitting the post twice from well struck shots. Some of the reffing? maybe he was unbalanced by the conditions as well if I am being kind. I like the look of the new shape side and thought Lee Sawyer had a good game and is getting into his stride I just hope we can get a run of games going now to allow the new players to fully bed in and I reckon we look as well set as we can be after the Ins and outs and fixture disruption of the past few weeks . Top work to all our lot for battling through that one and coming away with a very handy three points. I won't forget that big blue bin hurtling past us in the breeze. Let's all do the Binnsy hey! On we go.

Atrocious conditions. Really hard- fought and valuable three points.
Great shift put in by all the players; we looked very solid again defensively.
Move of high quality won the game, started and expertly finished by the very impressive Jamie Taylor.
Every player then worked really hard for each other and the team to protect the lead. Job done.
Back to back away wins. Two clean sheets.
Onwards and upwards.

With those weather conditions and a just about playable pitch, it was never going to be a classic, but it was the team who fought hardest that one, and on this occasion it was us. Cracking finish by JT. Our first look at Basingstoke this season, and certainly they have an air of a mid table side from what I saw today.
MoM for me was one of our loan players - thought Wynter had a great game and worked great with Cloughie at the back - our back 4 were really the players who won it for us today - no mistakes and clear communication.
Another ref who lost the plot early on, although oddly enough it was Stoke who had the man sent off - 2 bookables, with the 2nd one being so blatant he had no choice.
We're far from claiming a play off spot yet, but with Ebbsfleet losing at Eastleigh (mainly due to 2 penalties - when will Eastleigh's luck run out?) we're 1 point behind with a game in hand and a superior goal difference.

Well done to 'Stoke for producing a playable surface after all the rain yesterday & to both sets of players for keeping going for 90 plus mins in very difficult conditions. Both sides seemed to do better with the wind in their faces with U's a more potent force in the first half than the second.
Great control & brilliant strike from JT from Scanners cross to ulitmately win the game. Good free-kick from them hit the angle of the bar & post and in the second young Gregory pushed another effort onto the bar. The ref missed his touch to compound a less than average performance. Some of his decision making was poor but he got all his cards right. Not the worse we've had but nowhere near the best either.
In those conditions today, awaay from home, that is a great 3 pts. We defended very well with Cloughie dominant as ever and young Wynter impressed again too. I also thought Lee Sawyer built on his performance at Chelmsford with another energetic and purposeful display. But really all the lads did well today & while the home side were a bit limited in the last third they did keep going for the full 90. Not football at its best but at its grittiest and we just had that little more grit and one fine piece of finishing.

Did he really have to be interviewed in a kitchen? I just want to say the interview was nothing to do with SUFCtv, we don't do kitchens we aren't Wickes

As for the match, awful conditions I thought at one stage the we all going to end up like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. We really did well in that first half playing against the wind and it was us that fashioned the better opportunities. Taylor provided a bit of magic giving the very solid Stoke keeper no chance at all with his top right hand corner blaster. The back four continue to impress as does the young keeper notching up their second away clean sheet on the bounce. Stoke looked a decent side but in truth their only efforts were from long range all be them close. That's 180mins of football and Gregory has just needed to make one proper save, which tells us how much protection he is getting. My MOTM today was Cloughie, he just wins everything, but having said that Binns was superb in his defensive role and Wynter, Weston, and Downer show me the reason why Dos has made the changes he has of late. 4th in the table putting pressure on Ebbsfleet, who are not as good as us, but we have a reputation for finishing strongly and if we can keep these loan signings then maybe just maybe The Camrose looks a bit tired it could do with a little TLC.
