It does say at the top of the forum that "having an opinion is fine but please do not overstep the mark"
I think the mark has been left well behind...

Medibot thanks for the light hearted space argument captions,am pleased that O.S on another thread said about your back four who are all young and doing well, just click on the Croydon report and forum for yesterdays game and yes it was not a great result for us either, but back from injury an ex Sutt and another ex Sutt did O.K both young players also.Am not trying to cause any arguments but given chances like your back line players will imoprove with games and opportunites.

Rob: I have never really seen the issue here, the back 4 we have got it not what I would of chosen because its too young and too inexperienced. It does not mean they or previous young players we have had including your son will not go on to gain that experience and become very good players. But you have to look at the fact that if you put too many youngsters in you will pay the price as we have defensively all season up until recently and they have some tough tests to come. I could point to games where inexperience cost us, AJ was responsible for Dorchester's 2 early goal back at our place being caught woefully out of position twice in 5 mins. Again although Steffan is not a home grown player he is still young and stepping up a division, it will take him time to get accustomed, the problem is we don't have that time and another thing is that he is under a massive amount of pressure given our position and reason he was bought into the team. I credit Sutton fans with a bit patience and understanding but its so easy to get on a players back when he misses relatively east chances, that can destroy a young kid. Ask yourself how would your boy handle that would you want him too at such a young age, what would be going through his mind on a one on one with the keeper in our team today? Then think of what would be going through the mind of a pro like Dean Holdsworth or Marcus Gale, probably what they were going to have for dinner as they are slotting the ball into the net.
You simply cannot bung 11 kids on the pitch at this level or even 5 or 6 and expect to get away with it, its a testament to Ernie that he has managed to get some of the recent crop playing so well, especially at the back. But the next 5-0 drubbing and few more misses for Steffan could just be around the next corner because that's what you get with kids.
To sum up I don't understand your frustration or why what is a normal part of football has got people so hot under the collar?

I respect your response, many truths in it and and yes I have been hot under the coller at times,it is all about expeareance, and like yourselves we at times have struggled with naiveness and with an average side of about 20 as you say they will make mistakes, lets hope that many of them become better players in the years ahead.

Sorry Rob, have to get involved here. OS has stated exactly what I have said in the past. He gets respect, I get abuse. Where's the consistency in your responses?

Sorry Mark,I have had alot on my plate over the last few months,my dad who's 92 has not been well and now me mum who's 84 has been very ill in St Helier, sometimes maybe I do misunderstand some of your [posts or maybe things that seem personal get my goat up,but overall we can all agree on the fact that kids wont win you leagues etc,but they do need to be bloodied in to get the expeareance that will make them better players Ernie is doing it with yours although he is under tremendous pressure, and likewise with our lads over at Croydon, perhaps I do feel agrieved along with others that under Ian our lads did not get a fair crack of the whip, but I suppose he was under pressure also, anyway we have been there many times before its a subject that should be forgotten, accept my apologies but also respect my thoughts, lets all move on and hope for the best for both Clubs and all the young players.I am delighted how Brad has done at Croydon, and with others lets hope for continued progress for all.
