I'm sure any ban on ground sharing is the fault of Maidstone selling our ground and spunking the money on Dartford's ground and wages back in the 1990s, and quite right too. I wish someone had stopped Jim Thompson's mad plans and fantasies. Think you can share within the same conurbation, which may be a nebulous concept for those near Greater London. The only advantage to our poor season is someone else is going to test the pitch rules before us. At the moment the prospects don't look great.

It would be better for the club to miss out on promotion this year,or until this stupid issue is resolved.

Thankfully, the board have said categorically that they would not refuse promotion. There is a solution somewhere. There's quite a big difference between missing out on promotion and refusing it! Not everyone will agree, but I'm of the view that just missing out and keeping up the pressure on the EFL to change its stance on 3G would be preferable to going up this year. I also recognise that if we earn the right to go up this year then we owe it to ourselves to take that step.

Excellent reply Aleman (although I suspect that came from the Aardvark). I also suspect that was what scorpioeyes meant too.

The debate continues..... English Football League could face legal action from non-league clubs over rules against artificial pitches The group 3G4US is determined to force a change to the EFL’s rules which state no match in the Championship, League One or League Two can be played on an artificial surface...... LINKThis could be very interesting.

Apparently the Maidstone owner has said he understands there's so little support for 3g in the EFL that there won't even be a vote this summer.

I gave Refman's comment on it a thumbs-up (despite the double negative at the end!).

Orient moaning about the pitch and why they lost last night, it seems they can’t win on either mud or 3G. Justin Edinburgh says “you’ll find it hard to find a worse pitch than this”. Doesn’t this tell you something?

Seems their default excuse is "it's not exactly what we're used to, therefore it's objectively bad."

Seems their default excuse is "it's not exactly what we're used to, therefore it's objectively bad." Which is extra rich as it was a home game

Oh well that changes everything. That means it's just hilarious.

And they admit that pitch maintenance has been lacking, just like the respect they gave to us and the National League in the beginning.
