That must have been a dull 145 years for them. I'd almost be pleased with the relegation just for a change! Almost. Easy job for their programme editor you'd think - a lot of copy and paste from the previous season!

Although divisions do fairly often change their names...
Andy K just pointed out to me that it isn't true though, sadly. They were in the Football League for several years and while election isn't the same as promotion and failure to be re-elected isn't relegation, you can't say they have never changed divisions due to league position as one comment on that tweet said.

Not non-league I know but a club that have come a long way over the years - less than two decades ago Accrington were competing in the Unibond League Division One. Absolutely fairytale stuff this is - good luck to them. Accrington Stanley? Oooh are they?

Salford City have won the NLN, so an away day in Manchester next season if we stay down Is that something to look forward to?

Anyone else looking forward to a trip to Chesterfield next season? 😏 I’d rather avoid it and instead make the trips to Coventry, Swindon and Carlisle...

You know, that hadn't occurred to me. Our most famous victory of all time was so famous because Coventry were so many levels above us. Next season we could be playing them in the league! 30th anniversary celebration anyone? Shame it'll be a Monday

If the worst came to the worst it could also be with Barnet, but, on the other scenario we’d be swooping Hartlepool for Carlisle which is a much more picturesque drive ⛰

Looking at some of the lower league promotions and those in play off places there's some familiar names who I believe we've played before here at Step 1...
Altrincham win the Evo Stick, Hereford win the Evo Stick South with Weymouth and Kettering in the play offs, Frickley in the play offs in Evo stick First South, AFC Rushden and Diamonds win the Evo Stick South East, with Hayes and Yeading in the play offs

I think only Altrincham out of that lot haven't gone into administration or had a nomadic existence. Of course we haven't played Hereford or Rushden in their current guise. Looks like Scarborough may get promoted too

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43914866 - all permutations for the National League here, the race for the last play-off spots will be absolutely fascinating throughout tomorrows 90 minutes.

Frickley lost their play-off tie last night in the Evo-Stik First Div South.

The most important one in the league is that Wimbledon will be in a higher league than MK for the first time.

I had a feeling that Hereford would get shunted to the north.
