Someone should build an app for a mobile which can accurately count people in a football ground just by pointing the camera at them. There's obviously a big market for it.

Apologies for my comment last night, I just reread it and I come over as a bit of a dick to be honest. In the cold light of day I realize the club where just trying to do their best and i should have just stayed and watched. especially as they did allow people to stand. Anyways... Halifax what chance the game will be on

On the off chance you actually want an answer and are not just fishing. It is compulsory to enter a team. At National League level the games are not counted as 1st team matches for appearance / goal scoring / suspension purposes. Therefore most clubs decide to not put much of a 1st team out for it. I would suggest that all of those in attendance last night would know they were going to watch a mixture of 1st team / academy players therefore wouldn't being feeling fleeced. Thanks for that. The fact that anyone, armed with this knowledge, wants to go out on a freezing cold night to watch this stuff must surely set alarm bells ringing.

Any lads from Academy we think have a realistic chance of playing for us in years to come?. Unlikely, I'd say, based on that performance. That said, I always think it's harsh to judge any player on the strength of one performance - good or bad - but if you're an up and coming player hoping to make your way in the game then a game alongside a number of first-teamers is the sort of environment you're going to need to turn up to, because those are the games where you'll get noticed.

Not my idea of fun but then again it would be a very boring world if everyone liked the same things I did wouldn't it? To me the idea that someone sits and watches a bunch of blokes stand in a field for 5 days and then call it a draw is grounds for applying section 4 - but I am told many people not only do this they pay for membership to allow them to do so.

Billy, you continually claim not to be trolling or trying to wind people up. Yet you persist in criticising or implying something's wrong with people for making minor choices about how they spend their own time or money, despite it not affecting you in any way whatsoever, simply because it's different from how you would do things yourself.
In the past you've criticised or mocked people for their choices of clothing, the time of day when they eat their meals, how far they choose to travel in pursuit of their chosen leisure activity and now you're implying there's something wrong with people who decide to go out on a cold night. Personally I love a crisp evening. I'm someone who can't stand the heat. I know it's hard for you to get your head around this but other people are different from you and that is actually OK.
If you are telling the truth about not trying to wind people up then I suggest you mind your own business and let people continue to get on with their lives in ways that do not in any way affect you.

Anyone would think they were an ardent supporter of the club or something. But don't worry Billy, that's not an epithet anybody would make the mistake of tarnishing you with.

I'm just a casual observer mate compared to some of the loonies in here !However,i have followed the fortunes of Sutton United over six decades, first going to a match at Gander Green Lane in the 1965/66 season.I hope this entitles me to call myself a supporter.

Like you say, you're a casual observer as opposed to an ardent supporter. Evidently, the last six decades have weathered your ardour somewhat.

Billy I think people who use the forum would appreciate not being called "loonies" and accusing loyal supporters of being gullible and willing to stand up for anything. And I'm sure the club would appreciate not being accused of taking their supporters for granted.
You are very entitled to call yourself a supporter, but you are not entitled to come on here to judge the sanity of others for going to a football match or even getting personal.
I an I'm sure many others think that you come on here to cause trouble. And the reason we think that is quite simply down to what you post, which no one has control of aside from you. Whilst people on here disagree with others, I can't think of any other poster who will come on here and be so deliberate in their approach.

How old are you if you don't mind me asking ? I must confess I do find your posts alarming on occasion. In polite society, it is generally considered imprudent to enquire as to a gentleman's age.

It may not be the majority, here, that would be best advised to make a study of their psychological tics.
I'm 56, btw.

Doesn’t matter how long you’ve supported the club / been going to sufc games whether it is 3 games or 3 years of 30 years, we are all supporters, even if u come to a game for a random visit and support Sutton for the day, you’re still a supporter for the day.... and I think by calling some fans loonies is very unacceptable! The stuff you say is very unlogical and very offensive!

One thing that has been on my mind is how Tooting are affiliated to the London FA and we aren’t even though both clubs are technically in London or Greater London, Met Police are Part of the London FA even though they are in Surrey, did we reject to move FA’s or what, always found that interesting, think the London Senior Cup would be better for the club in my opinion, lets just win the SSC two more times so we beat DHFC record the switch to the London FA!
