It's not just the pitch though, remember. The ground, car park etc have to be safe for spectators.

Being reported on Twitter that the National League are allowing clubs to postpone games from 48 prior to kick off. At the time of writing, it's 47 hours to kick off. I expect we're on the phone to Halifax now....

Hence why it won’t be on, both terraces will be shut, only the large main stand would be open, both clubs are better off posponing it in my opinion and finding a spare Saturday at the end of the season if possible or a Tuesday night.

I was replying to your comment that SCR would be on due to the quality of the pitch.

The regular season must end on the last Saturday of the season so if this is postponed it will be played on a Tuesday night, normally within a month of the original fixture. If the ground can be used safely and the pitch is playable the match happens.

Yes thank god, only £100 on train tickets down the drain, could have been much worse so good call on the clubs!

A perfect illustration of why this level of the game will never need a winter break. They happen quite naturally.

Coincidentally all of the "3G" sides were scheduled to play away this weekend. Bronley at Chester, us at Halifax and Maidstone at Solihull. The first 2 are off, but the last one is still on at the moment. Another game that's still on is Barrow v Eastleigh - there will be a certain irony if that's one of the few games that survives the white-out.
