Of course they'll say it wasn't them. Someone must have seen, there were loads of people in that section. They confirmed before the game that they wasn’t going to take one and I asked them all before the game and they said they still didn’t bring one and I asked after the game if it was any of them and again they all said no. Not gonna call my friends liars when I know they ain’t. But like I said, we think it was someone who hasn’t been before and/or doesn’t stand with us.

Right. Well I thought I knew who it was and asked my mates and I asked whether it was that person and they all said it wasn’t any of them, I thought someone said that someone else was gonna bring one and they didn’t so I apologise for that mistake, that’s what my post intended. Can we just leave this off the main forum now, I’ll happily talk about it on private message but let’s just keep this to game and the finalisation of getting a semi final in the playoffs. Ryan you can't make a statement and then try to end the conservation because it's not going your way. It doesn't work like that. And if you think the use of that smoke bomb/flare enhanced your match day experience, well.....

Someone threw the flare. We know from where abouts the flare came from and there will be people who knew who threw it.
The fact it was thrown in the direction if supporters in front of them which included kids shows not only were they a moron but actually couldn't give a stuff about anyone but themselves.
Whoever you are congratulations for being the biggest idiot of the season and I hope you don't bother to turn up next Sunday.

As much as I don't want to inject any note of negativity into what is a fantastic era for our club, it's very important to me that all our fans are able to enjoy home matches in safety and without risk of serious injury. Ryan - you and your mates bring great energy and passion to home games, and the ground wouldn't be the same without you, but I couldn't disagree with you more regarding your suggestion that flares/smoke bombs help to improve the atmosphere of a game. Flares and smoke bombs are illegal for a reason. They burn at up to 1600°C. That's hot enough to melt steel. Not to mention the noxious chemicals they give off. Anyone with asthma/breathing problems is going to have some serious issues when one of those gets let off in a confined space. Setting off a smoke bomb/flare at a football ground carries a custodial sentence of up to three months in prison. I would not hesitate to call for someone doing so at our ground to be prosecuted, and I would encourage others to do the same. I never thought I'd see the day when this forum would be used a vehicle for condoning criminal offences. If anyone's still on the fence about this, and you really shouldn't be, here's a BBC article about the dangers of flares and smoke bombs at football grounds... www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-35402735

It is not only a criminal offence to let off any pyrotechnic devise at a football stadium, it is a criminal offence to even be in possession of such devices if you are trying to enter a football ground. Conviction will lead to a football banning order.
Any spectator discovered with such a device will also be banned from the stadium. It does NOT add to any mood and it is a dangerous thing to do. We now have a cctv system in operation covering the entire stadium and approaches and action against offenders can be retrospective.
First and final warning.

Credit to the stewards and safety team who got rid of it straight away, very professional.

The fact that I completely disagree it adds to the atmosphere is neither here nor there as we're all entitled to our opinions. I'm sure we can all agree, however, that the safety of spectators, the reputation of our club and, you know, not committing an actual criminal offence are all more important than something that a minority of people believe enhances the atmosphere precisely at a time when it didn't need enhancing - we'd just scored FFS.
Thus it looks a bit weird and (not that I'm accusing you personally Ryan) kind of suspect that you continue to defend it with all this "ok it was bad but the atmosphere!" stuff.

I can't believe anyone could support the use of flares at any match, it does add to the atmosphere, it actually melts the pitch. There is still a big blue burn mark behind the CW end goal from the Arsenal match. Another point is that people can and do get injured by these things - Unbelievable - What do parents and schools teach today? Because is it commonsense thats for sure!

The fact that it was discussed or thought of before the game is an indication to me that there's intent there. Sounds like someone who does stand with you may have let you down with your trust in them. I hope any footage roots out this moron.

It's incredible that a momentus moment for the club is being hijacked by one moron who threw a flare. The fact that they did it is stupid, I think we all agree on that. Dave has come on here and summed up the clubs/legal position as well as letting us know there is CCTV covering the ground. So if it's there, the person will get caught.
Despite this everyone feels the need to go on and on about it. It happened. It was stupid but move on now. Let the club deal with it and focus on the positives from yesterday and the brilliant play off semi to come on Sunday.
