So this Saturday we have a break from our busy league programme as we head up to Scotland for our inaugural tie in the Irn Bru/Scottish Challenge Cup.
Our tie at Airdrie is one of much intrigue and I look forward to hearing some of the stories from those of you heading up as I sadly won’t be making it myself.
It will be interesting to see what kind of squad travels, though Dos gave some clues yesterday with the likes of Bolarinwa, Cadogan, Ayunga and Worner all likely to feature.
Safe travels to all going. C’mon the U’s!!

I’ll happily share stories if I can actually remember anything after a night out in Glasgow.

Some information from our hosts:- Parking at the Stadium There are plenty of parking spaces at the stadium. A £2 fee is charged upon arrival. Away Fans Entry to the Stadium All fans will be situated in the Jake Dalziel Main Stand, which holds 3800 fans. Sutton fans will be in the South section, and can enter via gates 1-4.
Programmes will be available at the club shop and on the concourse for £2. The club shop is situated to the left of the main reception and is open from 1pm and again after the match. 50-50 tickets will be available on the main concourse, with the average prize being in the region of £250. There is a bar at the stadium which welcomes both home and away fans. This will open at midday on Saturday and close at kick off, opening again post match until 5.30
Getting from the stadium to the Town Centre/Train Station It’s a 20-25 minute walk, but taxis are plentiful. We would recommend using club partners Penny Cars on 01236 752752. There is also a freephone at the stadium reception and in the stadium bar.
Bars and Restaurants Aside from the stadium bar, we would recommend the following venues in the town, all of which are away fan friendly. West End Bar :- 2 minutes walk from Airdrie Train Station. Sky Sports, Pool Table, Dart Board, DJ on Friday and Saturday nights. 24 Alexander St, Airdrie ML6 0BA Airdrie Workies :- 30 seconds walk from the train station on Broomknoll Street. 15-17 Broomknoll St, Airdrie ML6 6BN Cue Here Sports Bar – 5 minutes walk from the train station. Sky Sports, 9 pool tables, Juke Box, food for away fans pre match. 39 Hallcraig St, Airdrie ML6 6AH Four Isles Bar :- Closest bar to the stadium, with parking. 5-7 minute walk from the stadium. Varnsdorf Way, Airdrie ML6 8EQ Hartys Guest House and Grill : Guest House with 2 separate bars and restaurant. 101 Main St, Chapelhall, Airdrie ML6 8SD Pro Bowl – 30 seconds from train station. Family friendly bowling alley directly across from Airdrie Train Station, with large bar and café. 8 Manse Pl, Airdrie ML6 0AN

Apart from the fact that we won the Anglo-Italian cup and are the only English club to have done so.

The BBC's coverage of non-league football is the biggest joke of them all.

When the match reports come up on the BBC website they are always taken from the Associated Press. Not that great whatsoever but I just liked that article to be honest. Just thought I'd share it. Nice to see that the tournament and Sutton playing in it has been recognised. Even if they didn't mention the fact Sutton are the only English club to win the Anglo-Italian Cup

The BBC's coverage of non-league football is the biggest joke of them all. the website coverage is not great - granted. But their local radio commentaries are excellent. No one in broadcasting terms has covered the non-league games for longer than the bbc and every week you get live commentary on NL matches. I started that way in 2000. Hopefully BT sport stay interested for some time.

BBC Surrey cover Aldershot despite them not being in Surrey in any fashion (Please don't start the Surrey/London debate again). BBC London have so many other teams that they couldn't give a damn about us
