It's out there now then.
What a way for BFC to spend New Year's Eve!

Perhaps we will have to have another game against Bromley ,at home this time. Don't the winners play away to Spennymore Town on 12th January ?

Yeah away to Spennymore for whoever wins out in the FA meeting. Worth noting that Spennymore's game was postponed yesterday so their pitch is likely in a pretty shoddy condition already

Last season Bromley played Spennymoor Town in the quarter-finals. After a 0-0 draw at Hayes Lane on 24 February, the replay at Spennymoor was postponed three times, eventually being played on Wednesday 14 March when Bromley won 2-1.

FYI the game was eventually played at Darlington FC due to the mud bath at Spennymoor, this situation does not appear to have improved with two recent games being postponed due to the state of the pitch. One of these games has been rearranged for the mid week before the FA Trophy game on the Saturday.

For anyone interested I understand Bromley are charged under FA Competitions rule 15J(i) concerning the eligibility of a player on loan to them. These rules are published on the FA website. The consequences of the player being found ineligible are in rule 16B and 16C. 16C sets the bar very high for a successful appeal.
If a reply is ordered [IMO unlikely] the tie is not automatically reversed, but in the FA rules the club in default may not take any share of the gate money for the replay, and probably for that reason the defaulting club often agrees to play away.

The player in question is probably JJ Hooper, who scored Bromley's first goal, having recently joined them on loan from Grimsby.

It's pretty much the same as the Bromley statement.

Here it is: Bromley will find out their FA Trophy fate next week after being charged with an alleged breach of competition rules following their first round win over Sutton earlier this month. The Raven’s lost to Brackley in last season’s final at Wembley and their run in the Trophy this time could be cut short depending on the FA’s findings. The National League club will be attending a personal hearing with football’s governing body next week. Bromley beat Sutton 2-1 and set to visit Spennymoor Town on January 12, but this fixture is now in doubt. A club statement read: “The Club can confirm that it has been charged by the FA with an alleged breach of competition rules in the FA Trophy. “The formal process is ongoing and the Club will be attending a personal hearing with The FA week commencing 31st December. “The Club would like to apologise to supporters for the uncertainty this will cause with regards to the next round of the competition and will update supporters with the outcome of the hearing in the New Year. “The Club will not be making any further comment at this time.”

I wonder how this will pan out next week - with the player in question (JJ Hooper) scoring and thus directly influencing the outcome of the match without having FA approval does this mean the punishment will be harsher?!

How do you know it is JJ Hooper? They have more than one loan player.
