I read localboy's comment as signifying that Bromley have been reinstated, but AA's subsequent comment appears to suggest otherwise. I are confuse. As it stands now we are back in. If Bromley appeal then it could be reversed but as the Aleman says there is no indication they will. Bromley are making another statement later and if there's no indication in that of a possible appeal then it's 100%.

For the record, Bromley's never appealed to me.

That's funny, never has Sutton appeared in my radar as a great club. Get over it, we beat you twice this season. You'll love Spenny, ha ha. All that expense going up there, enjoy the locals.....

Whilst I gather that some award-winning still and sparkling wines are produced in Kent, I must say I find the grapes there exceedingly sour.

Only time will tell if our reinstatement is a good thing for the club. I wouldn’t have thought we get any prize money for advancing in this manner and a trip to Spennymoor will only be a financial success if we make it through. The National North league table suggests it’s going to be a tough assignment.
One knock-on effect of this (and I appreciate that some people will consider this an irrelevance) is that Dos may well be compelled to field an entire Academy side next Tuesday in the SSC at Chertsey. Speaking with my glass half-empty, we could end up travelling back from Spennymoor out of all Cup competitions. But hey, we’re somewhat overdue a good result in a Cup match, so let it be oop north, eh?

Get over the fact we've been reinstated due to your clubs incompetence? OK, we'll try but I can't help feeling that you're venting your frustration in the wrong direction.
Incidentally, what's your issue with the locals in Spennymoor?

I may not be the most in the know as some other people on this forum about such affairs but don't the rules allow you to claim money back for the expense of coach/train/hotel when travelling a long distance for away matches so the club doesn't end up out of pocket anyway?

I would say Bromley and Sutton are on a par. Both have good amateur histories and more recently have won the NLS. We have both blown a Trophy Final in the last minute too. Been to Spennymoor - way back in 1974. Locals weren't friendly then but it was a long time ago.

Medwaysider, that's for you to find out like we did. Their pitch is crap, good luck on the day, no prisoners taken.

Surely if that's the case, we're talking about no more than a handful of undesirables that attach themselves to plenty of clubs when there's a big game ahead.
Saw something similar in an FA Vase SF 1st leg - Herne Bay v West Auckland in 2012. Certain "supporters" of the hosts took exception to some of the "playful" songs being sung by the visitors and reacted with a "sledgehammer versus nut" mentality.

1974 was 45 years ago - even the youngest then is likely to be exceeding 60 these days and not exactly able to cause much bother. Besides 1974 was a different era for football crowd behaviour.
I am not expecting game to be segregated and you will be welcomed in ground and at our pub - The Moors Tavern.
Besides we have something in common....a mutual dislike of Bromley.
I'm sure a joint chorus of "Are You Watching Bromley" may be heard on 12th either in pub or in the ground.
Train travel is difficult that weekend because of engineering works on the line. There is a greatly reduced number of trains running from London to the North East
Hopefully see a good few of you on the 12th! I will be the one with the Spennymoor Town London Branch Flag

Good to hear.
It certainly was a different era. One guy got carted off in a police mini van after putting a brick through Sutton coach window. Was a local coach firm as Sutton flew up for the tie. Another was just stopped from chucking a bucket of water over my mum!!

In the spirit of classic 1970's children's TV show Multi-Coloured Swapshop, perhaps we could arrange a mutually agreeable exchange of our undesirables. Happy to accept ten Spennymoors for one Billy...

Cheers for that, Spen666. I looked at the trains and all journeys from London are taking an extra hour due to engineering works in the Peterborough area, so they're detouring via Cambridge. That, coupled with the fact I'm always worried about postponements in your part of the world at this time of year and the relatively short notice mean I won't be travelling for this one. Shame as your place would be a new ground for me, but I've plenty of scope to pay a visit one day as a good friend of mine lives just down the road (relatively speaking) in Northallerton. Best of luck in your next 2 games v Telford and Kidderminster..........then hopefully you'll have used it all up by the time we come to town! Cheers again.
