Was at Telford - Spennymoor today (the Bucks are now my 'local' non-league side). I pity you

Spennymoor travel. The nearest main line station is Durham. Though there is a bus service to Spennymoor I heard on the radio (5th Jan) that Bus drivers in the Durham area are going on strike starting this week. If that involves the relevant bus-route and the strike is still on - train travellers may want to book a return taxi when they get the outward one.

The engineering work near Peterborough means a greatly reduced service on East Coast Mainline. There are only limited trains back from Durham. I am travelling via Darlington, but that is 12 miles from Spennymoor. . Fortunately I have a lift both ways arranged. Taxis will be more expensive from Darlington . Regarding the bus strike. There are temporary timetables in operation. More information can be found at www.arrivabus.co.uk/north-east/floating/strike-buses/Happy travelling

As I understand it, the bus strike only affects Arriva services, which include the no.6 that runs between Durham and Spennymoor. But there is another service, the X21 (Castles Express) operated by Go North East, which runs half-hourly, and I assume will be unaffected (journey time 20 minutes).

Bromley mentioned in their statement that the FA were alerted to the issue by the Sutton secretary. Just out of interest, how would we know if a player is correctly registered with the FA? Is there a database or something, or do we literally raise it with the FA if there are loan players involved and hope for the best? Sorry if it's a silly question but I am a bit confused how we would know this player wasn't allowed to play in just the Trophy. It is not a silly question, and I wonder if Ray Ward will post the definite answer. There is an FA database called WGS = Whole game System. Club Secretaries do not normally have access to the complete player details of any club other than their own. However if you attempt to post an opposition player to your club the program tells you his current status (registered - loaned etc). So in that way you can check something about opposition players one at a time. I don't know if WGS states in which competitions other than league a loanee is permitted to play. There is another FA database called FT = Full Time which for any given league game or cup game lists all the players on the roster of the two teams who can play, updated Friday prior. A club can access that and see its own roster and the opponents roster. It is possible that the Bromley player did not appear on their roster for the FA Trophy and this is what Sutton spotted.

If you listen to Dos’ interview after the Harrogate game you get the answer. We were advised by the Fa to check registrations etc after we got kicked out of the FA Yourh Cup. A one line email asking if their loan players were registered to play would do the trick. The FA then have to check and find out

The BBC website has the game against Spennymoor as postponed. Not great at updating things all non-league are they?

Which time? Spennymore or snear? Spennymore is worse, since it's written in several places on this forum and has been corrected by users at least twice!
