Gotta say it was a brilliant weekend soured only by the football result. Great strikes from Taylor. Ref was inconsistent. Allowed one of their guys to get away with 5 tackles after pointing all around the pitch before giving him a final warning whereas he pointed to 2 places before giving our guy a final warning!
The Spennymoor fans were an absolute credit to their club. It was great to meet you Dan in the Moors pub beforehand.
Rather enjoyed the Penny Gill before the game and certainly look forward to going there again. I hope Luke enjoyed himself in there in the evening.

Would just like to echo the good luck expressed by fellow U's for Spennymoor's FAT campaign this season. Spen666, if you get promoted I don't think you'll get to see the game down here - you'll be too busy drinking all those "on the house" pints in the social club!!

Travelling back to London on Saturday night, the Sutton team and officials etc were in the next train carriage. They behaved impeccably. Some playing cards for match sticks, some reading, chatting or listening to music on headphones. A few beers were consumed. I chatted with a couple of officials who were very gracious in defeat and I have to say the whole party represented the club very well. The next carriage down on the train were the payers and officials of Blackheath Rugby club coming back from playing Darlington Mowden Park. They were loud, pissed up, had thrown drink over the carriage, seats, floor etc. If the Rugby club's behaviour had been that of a football club or its fans, it would have been all over the national papers. The match result may not have been the one you wanted, but the attitude and behaviour of everyone connected to your club was fantastic. Non league football the way it should be. Be proud of yourselves and your club and concentrate on winning the play offs and going up with Orient Can you post this on the Bromley forum Can you post it on the Blackheath Rugby Club forum, if there is one!

In terms of fixtures for us, aside from Salford being moved, the next fixtures that clash with Trophy dates are away at Dagenham on 23rd Feb (Salford knocked them out), home to Gateshead on 16th March (Salford knocked them out too) and 23rd March when we are due to travel to Chesterfield (who are still in and face last season's killer of our run Brackley Town). So perhaps those of you booking trains for that match may want to hang on a couple of weeks.
