I'm already in North Yorkshire, and it's a good five degrees cooler up here than in London. Autumn has most definitely arrived!
This is the second of four consecutive away games against clubs which made the play-offs last spring but have had disappointing starts to this season. We got a draw at Wrexham (Solihull and Fylde are coming up): after Tuesday's home defeat it would be good to get something from this match. Harrogate now have former Premier League striker Jon Stead in their squad.

I'm also already in North Yorkshire, Northallerton to be precise and yes you're right, notably cooler and wetter up here. Going to drive into Knaresborough and take the train into Harrogate from there to (hopefully) keep the disruption to a minimum.
Jon Stead eh? Blimey, he's been going a while now. Won't have too much pace left at 36 with any luck (famous last words?) but a natural goalscorer. I'm predicting 2-2 today.

Cant make this one i'm afraid as overseas but good luck to the team and the supporters who are making their way up to Harrogate.

Currently on the train up to Leeds where I’ll have to change to get to Harrogate. Having made the trip last season on the opening day to Harrogate I was keen to make the trip this season - a decent ground and I found the locals friendly. Hoping we can get something today, will we go with the set-up that worked well last Saturday against Chesterfield or will we go 5 in midfield and be a bit more defensive 🤔.

Almost forgot: recommended pub is the Harrogate Tap at the station. (I'm there now!) Great choice of beers, and you don't have to endure the crowds and road closures in the town centre.

Another thrustrating day, why start with only one up top when we need a win and have to wait till we are one down then chassing the game. We are also tot crating a nought in midfield so a bit frustrated.

We have a manager who is clearly out of his depth and, as I predicted at the start of the season, we face a long battle against the drop.

Not great from us today, with the result turning on two penalties, one saved and the other converted.
Harrogate are not quite the force they were last season, but were well organised and won every header that they needed to. Our best hope in the first half looked to come from our right flank, yet the few decent crosses that David A and Tom B managed to deliver were all intercepted by the home defence. A similar fate repeatedly befell the passes with which Harry tried to reach Will Randall on the left.
We did have the ball in their net following a goalmouth scramble, but a linesman's flag was raised. They took the lead through a quick counter-attack, as we were caught short-manned in our own half and George Thomson ran on to beat Jamie Butler.
We started the second half a bit sluggishly but were offered a lifeline when Aaron Jarvis was clearly fouled in the box. Alas, JC's spot kick lacked his usual conviction and home keeper Belshaw saved. We looked more of a threat with Tommy W and Kyel Reid on, but the breakthrough wouldn't come. Late in the game Jamie B was adjudged to have brought down their player and Muldoon then beat him from the spot for 2-0.
We stay 19th, but that's now only one win in our last nine games. If we don't win next Saturday at home to Stockport then I shall be worried.

I tell you who was out of his depth - the Harrogate left back and it's a shame we didn't repeatedly target him in the way that Ajiboye did at the start of the game because he was slow, had terrible positioning skills and couldn't head the ball particularly well. I thought it was just a matter of time before he cost them a goal or two but we didn't prey on his vulnerability enough for the rest of the game.
Overall can't really argue with the result (and they taught us how to take a penalty) but I wouldn't be too despondent.

We were always destined for a tough transition but this is getting a tad worrying now. We've got a good squad with plenty of experience which is good but even experienced sides have struggled with relegation scraps.
Be interested to know the form guide for this calender year. I remember we had it hard towards the back end of last season.
Regarding the manager I've only seen one game,Are we seeing the team play with an identity?. Ok we are losing games but are we making positive steps in our play?.
