PS.........in your in depth reports can you please use the surnames of the players ? This will be of great benefit to those of us who only turn up once in a blue moon.

For once Billy, I wasn't referring to your post. By some quirk of superstitious fate, I think that was unlucky number 13, having scored from the last 12 consecutive pens including the penalty shoot out at Slough.

I see ! Sorry for the misunderstanding.Collins is certainly one of the best penalty takers i've seen.

I tell you who was out of his depth - the Harrogate left back and it's a shame we didn't repeatedly target him in the way that Ajiboye did at the start of the game because he was slow, had terrible positioning skills and couldn't head the ball particularly well. I thought it was just a matter of time before he cost them a goal or two but we didn't prey on his vulnerability enough for the rest of the game. Overall can't really argue with the result (and they taught us how to take a penalty) but I wouldn't be too despondent. Does Collins need lessons on penalty taking ? How many has he missed over the last few years ? It was more a reference to their penalty which was textbook, in terms of power and placement, and a comparison on the spot kicks taken on the day itself. It wasn't some sort of critique of Collins in general, how could it be, as you say, given his record.

I suppose you can't be too surprised at a dip in attendance at the local football club in a town where a sporting world championships is being held - even if it's a sport you aren't personally interested in! Harrogate doesn't get to be in the limelight that often. If we didn't have two lovely children, my husband and I would have been in Harrogate all week watching it.

Yes Sally, combination of a genuinely world class event that the people of the area were rightly proud to see come to their town (and county in general, I've friends in Northallerton and the place was packed, and buzzing, all week) and of course for those who didn't want to put up with the disruption, a few would have stayed away on that basis. They might end up with a lower than average crowd next week, too, given their home fixture with Ebbsfleet is on BT Sport.

Just on the day Andy, just on the day...….although I note a certain someone has chosen to interpret that one differently As I said in my reply to Billy, it was more that I was very impressed with their pen. He couldn't have hit that one better if he tried.

OK, so two of those won't have changed the result, but two of them certainly did!

Here is the penalty save. The keeper did well to get a strong hand on the ball.

Always liked Jack Muldoon as a player. As the Cowley brothers once said on the coaches voice he's a grafter of a forward.

Yeah that's a good save tbh. Jamie would've wanted more angle into the corner but on another day that beats the keeper still. Even keepers at this level will now be studying opposition penalties and props to him he read Jamie's placement just before he struck it.
As long as our players aren't trying panenka penalties like the Colchester player did vs Spurs I will never complain.

Love the way some people make assumptions based on a few words. I do watch cycling (Tour de France, London/Surrey ride etc) but on the TV. Don't think it is the best sport to attend to watch (a bit like F1); you get to see more on the TV and fantastic views too. The TdF must be the most exacting sport on an athlete's body and I marvel at how they keep taking it on day after day. As for Harrogate's attendances, they have been down all season compared to last and a steward told me much of it was to do with the price rise and £269 for a season ticket. I expect the Cycling WC had an adverse effect but does not tell the whole story.

Love the way some people make assumptions based on a few words. What assumptions?! Had to re-read my post but no, there are still no assumptions in it. The closest thing I can find to one begins with an "if," which by its very nature would make it a speculation rather than an assumption. I apologise if I inadvertently implied something else!
