"even if it's a sport you aren't personally interested in".
Assumption, speculation; still wide of the mark.

Love the way some people make assumptions based on a few words. What assumptions?! Had to re-read my post but no, there are still no assumptions in it. The closest thing I can find to one begins with an "if," which by its very nature would make it a speculation rather than an assumption. I apologise if I inadvertently implied something else! You didn't spot any assumptions in your post because there weren't any. Presume you were speculating based on the line: Perhaps watching a blur of cyclists riding around was too great a pullWhich, if you simply read the words in front of you, would suggest the person concerned wasn't particularly interested in cycling. See, what you should've done is got your crystal ball out and tried to read that person's mind, instead. Then, conclude that they actually enjoy watching cycling. Silly you!

This from a guy who reckons Jamie Collins needs lessons on penalty taking then tries to wriggle out of it when he finds out skip's success rate.
Silly you.

I've already explained what I meant, but as you can read, you'll know that. So you see, in reality, there's nothing to wriggle out of. It's all in your mind. Have you ever thought of having some anger management therapy? Professionals can work wonders these days.

Here he goes again. Bored on a Monday night. Angry? Ha ha. Not a clue.
Funny how your explanation is supposedly acceptable but mine wasn't. Guess what?

But I didn't say it wasn't acceptable. I pointed out that the poster read the words in front of her. As did Billy with mine, which is why I clarified it for him, and others. All of whom, bar you, appeared to accept that explanation. As I accept yours that you enjoy watching cycling.
What isn't really acceptable is your level of self-entitlement, which led you to believe you were genuinely owed an apology. Anger can often stem from a sense of victimhood. But we're all here to help you. I certainly am. I hope you pull through.

Sal offered the apology so I accepted it thus bringing the exchange to a conclusion until you stuck your nose in.

Well, it was incredibly gracious of her to apologise for something when there was absolutely no reason to. I couldn't agree more. But I think you'll find people offer their opinions on a public forum so I'm afraid it's something you'll have to get used to. It's all part of life's rich tapestry, isn't it?

Likewise. And more than once in a blue moon, so some would speculate.

I'd say much more frequent than blue moons but less regular than buses. A balance that works nicely for me. The previous weekend I was at the Belgrade derby, last weekend at Harrogate and this Saturday, hmm, either Barking or possibly Maldon & Tiptree, I think.

Some people will do anything, even resort to telling fibs, rather than admit they got it wrong.
I've just given up on Man Utd v Arsenal - what a load of rubbish.Just to think it used to cost two bob (10 p) to watch Charlton,Law,Best,Greaves,Osgood and co..............................

For once Billy I agree with you. On both counts but will stick with the Man U match now Arsenal have to do more than play on the break
