I think you may have agreed with him twice, which I think is lovely. This could be the start of a beautiful relationship between you and I wish you all the luck in the world xx

Sal offered the apology so I accepted it thus bringing the exchange to a conclusion until you stuck your nose in. I wasn't going to post on this thread again but no, I apologised IF I had inadvertently implied something without realising it; your response made it clear that wasn't in fact the case. I don't apologise for you deciding I'd assumed something COMPLETELY HARMLESS AND INCONSEQUENTIAL about you and deciding to make an issue of it. That's on you.

Still, there were some not bad moments at the game on Saturday.
How offside was our "goal"? Anyone who was there got a take on who and if?

I accepted it just to end the subject. As for making an issue of it you made a statement that was incorrect so I explained my position. That's on you.

Some people will do anything, even resort to telling fibs, rather than admit they got it wrong. I've just given up on Man Utd v Arsenal - what a load of rubbish.Just to think it used to cost two bob (10 p) to watch Charlton,Law,Best,Greaves,Osgood and co.............................. It's improved Billy by a fair distance

Yeah that's a good save tbh. Jamie would've wanted more angle into the corner but on another day that beats the keeper still. Even keepers at this level will now be studying opposition penalties and props to him he read Jamie's placement just before he struck it. As long as our players aren't trying panenka penalties like the Colchester player did vs Spurs I will never complain. Just tying to find some reference to the match in this thread 🙄😴 re the penalty, those of us standing near the goal would have seen their keeper turn round and have a bit of a ‘chat’ with the fans after - someone remarked JC doesn’t miss many and he said he remembered JCs penalty from season b4 ... not sure if was actually him in goal or he had watched it a few times.

Same Harrogate keeper as last season (James Belshaw).
I can't say that I've studied JC's penalty technique, but my possibly imperfect recollection is that he usually strikes the ball low and hard to the keeper's left. As already noted, his record from the spot is pretty impressive. But most regular penalty-takers will mix up their placement to minimise the risk of their intention being anticipated by the keeper. That may be something for Jamie and Seb Brown to think about.

Whene JC's pen was saved at Solihull he went to the 'keepers right, I suspect because all and sundry would have seen his pen against Leeds. The 'keeper guessed right. Couldn't say how many have gone to what side since but I suspect the majority have gone to the left (if my memory serves me well, still).

Should add that having seen the pen on the highlights we should be giving credit to the 'keeper because it was still a decent save.

To be fair, "two bob" is a pretty accurate description of yesterday's game.

Should add that having seen the pen on the highlights we should be giving credit to the 'keeper because it was still a decent save. As a keeper you choose to stay or go one way or another, I used to stay and go after the ball, but even if you choose one side or not, no one saves a properly taken penalty, you simply cannot get to the ball. JC who normally takes them without problem, hit this one at the right height for the keeper who guessed the right way, if it had been on the ground its in.
