Government policy now updated and steps below North and South now allowed though BBC website doesn’t give effective date. Does this mean we could effectively attend the pre-season friendly at Haringey on 12th September?

Does this mean we could effectively attend the pre-season friendly at Haringey on 12th September? Good question. Whilst not 100% explicit, it currently appears the relaxation allows clubs at tier 7 and below to open their gates - therefore, a literal interpretation would suggest that we should be allowed to attend all away friendlies hosted by clubs that ply their trade below the National League North and South (e.g. the Isthmian League Premier's Haringey), notwithstanding the fact that the away club is tier 5...

If not, we might still have the opportunity to bundle down to the Lane that day, as long as SCR have made it through to the Preliminary Round of the F.A. Cup.

At this point in time, spectators are still not allowed into GGL for any game. Hopefully that will change over the next few days following discussions with SUWFC and SCR and the local authority licensing officer.
This whole picture is unbelievably complicated and no mistakes are allowed.

BBC were jumping the gun then I guess? Just because the fan ban's been relaxed does not automatically mean that every club is going to be in a position to respond overnight. It takes time to put the necessary wheels in motion, as per davef's recent post.

It is because we, as the ground operators, are a Step 5 club covered by additional guidance . Everything has to line up.

The guidance for Step 3 and below (including tiers 3 & 4 of the women's game)
From Saturday, clubs can fill grounds to 15% capacity.
From 30th Aug, clubs can fill grounds to 30% capacity.

So, an example straight away of how even the official guidance doesn't match up. 30% at our stadium is roughly 1500, but we are nowhere near being able to having any capacity signed off by the local authority and certainly not a figure of that size. As I said, it's not straightforward for anyone and we are a complex case.

So Haringey B away for our second pre-season game could well be a goer (depending what their stipulations are for away fans) - their average gate last season was 388 and in their 2,500 capacity ground 30% is 750 fans.

No this is incorrect. It's not stadium capacity but minimum step ground capacity at the level they play at: Step 3 - Min capacity 1950 so 15% = 300 Step 4 - 1350 - 15% = 200 Step 5 - 1000 - 15% = 150 Step 6 - 1000 - 15% = 150 Capacity doubles from August 31 onwards.

I know you all want to get back to football, I fully get that, but how exactly is this going to play out?
My head has had smoke coming out of it thinking about how fans can go back to football 'safely'?
The cases in Europe have tripled in the past month, they are at the verge of going exponential on the little opening up that has already been done.
I really do fear a 2nd lockdown - To me this is like rushing to jump over a cliff into the abyss.
