Phew. Another late goal. That table is making me feel very warm and fluffy inside. I shouldn't be getting carried away by it but it's impossible not to.

We were excellent first half. 2nd half gave them a lot of space and they were very dangerous. Not sure if we weren’t quite on it or whether their movement was just really good. They definitely had more of a threat than most, not a bad side at all, may yet make the play offs. Great to just hang in there and pinch it in the last 10 . . . again!!

We didn't quite leave it to stoppage time on this occasion, but another late winner illustrates the grit and determination of this Sutton side. I'm not sure whether Donovan Wilson meant to pass to Harry, but he provided the perfect assist for the goal that takes us top of the National League, one place below Grimsby Town in the current national rankings. The better team in the first half, bringing two good saves from the visiting keeper before a defensive howler gifted Tanto the opener, we had to dig in for much of the second, conceding an equaliser, before gaining the second wind that the home fans hoped for and maybe now expected. We await the final score from Moss Lane, but even a victory for ten-man Hartlepool would keep us in pole position on goal difference.

Very impressed with Yeovil tonight. I'm sure they are going to do us some favours in the coming weeks. We need to beat King's Lynn Saturday but I won't be too disappointed if we then lose at Chesterfield.

50 points and top of the league- I’d venture that we are in a better place than our previous dalliances with top spot in 2017. I thought Yeovil looked very dangerous and our defence didn’t look as assured as they have done in recent weeks. Again a top side winning when not firing on all cylinders. Well done lads

Very proud of Matt and the boys, tonight. Though that is hardly an unfamiliar feeling.

I remember Barry Williams asking the question, 'is winning habit forming?' during one of the two mid-1980s league winning seasons. I remember less clearly his assuredly well reasoned answer. But it was something along the lines of a team playing well with confidence don't know how to stop. I think we are seeing this resilience in the current team and they are a joy to watch. I am loving this winning run and seeing the team twice weekly playing as they are. Well done lads. And thank you.

Even if relegation does not happen this season good to get the 50 points. Should be safe now so let’s kick on.

For the record, Hartlepool drew so are two points behind us in 2nd place (with three more games played).
Oh, and that was our first league double of the season.

Well done lads You're correct. In the 2017/18 season we were on 42 points after 24 games, 2 points behind leaders Macclesfield. In recent seasons I've only found one side who had more than 50 points after 24 games (Cambridge in 2014). In every season since 2012 though, the side top of the league after 24 games went up. Still not getting too excited. But again, this team just keeps pulling off success after success. I'm rubbing my eyes at what we've seen but rubbing the hands at the thought of what could happen come the end of May if we keep doing what we're doing. And Del. No jinx ;-)

If someone had told me that potentially Sutton could be playing in the same league as three former Premier League teams in 2021 a few years ago (plus a possibility of Swindon, Wigan and Wimbledon) I would have laughed my head off.
Mind you I might have given a slight giggle and a shake of my head if I was told that they'd be top of the National League.
Long way to go though. I have to remember that.

It's great that we are doing well, but we are only just about half way through the season so getting excited is a little premature.
