It's great that we are doing well, but we are only just about half way through the season so getting excited is a little premature. There's nothing wrong with getting excited. It's not as though anybody's celebrating the title as this stage. I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it!

For the record, Hartlepool drew so are two points behind us in 2nd place (with three more games played).
Oh, and that was our first league double of the season. And Notts County lost as well, conceding late on at home to FC Halifax. A great set of results for us. Happy days.

Dos won 2 championships, which you don’t do without winning pressure games. Fact is when you keep putting yourself in a position to appear in higher profile games you’ll lose the odd one too! In terms of the game you also seem to think if we turn up that’s that. Fails to appreciate most games are very tight and the opposition also have a say in matters. Did you notice Wrexham just took 4 points off us? I hope we win and we’re on a good run but there’s no guarantees in football. We have no idea at this stage whether we are the best team or not. That is only decided sometime in May. I do get what OS is saying, but I think this is the difference between Matt and Dos. Dos was more of an "emotional" manager, and he was really good at getting sides motivated for big games, and we all have experience of that. But then he also struggled at times to get teams motivated against who we could consider "smaller" opponents. The number of times we lost at home to sides that were bottom of the league - Braintree, Torquay, Truro (this last one for example where Truro turned up late, couldn't do a proper warm up and only could name 1 sub and we still lost!). And in general our record against sides like Maidenhead under Dos wasn't fantastic either. And of course I don't need to mention his play off record. But saying that, that shouldn't undermine his achievements whatsoever and how we've come along and competed against sides we really shouldn't have and pulled off some amazing results like away at Lincoln for example. And of course the legacy that he left Matt to build on on the pitch like Harry and Craig E, without which we wouldn't be where we are. But it was more of an emotional rollercoaster whilst Matt feels like a steady hand - those highs will be understated as will the lows. I think what OS is implying is that there is more mental strength in this squad. I think that's more a reflection of the squad than any particular manager, but I think Matt has recruited in a different way which has helped that. Yep, I think most people know what I was trying to get at, Dos made players over perform, he won matches we had no right to win, he won titles from hopeless positions. Dos laid the foundations and Matt is building the superstructure. This team is the real deal, the best U's team in my life time, just because we have a little ground and not as many fans as say Notts County, doesn't mean we don't have a better team with better players. Tonight wasn't a flowing performance and Yeovil are a decent side, but when they had us on the rack after the equalizer we didn't buckle, and what more we found that winner too. Class act, something champions are made of, good horses win pulling away...

Another superb result against a good Yeovil team who came to GGL to attack us. We were on the front foot from the start and pressing them well. Well enough for them to make a silly error at the back which allowed Tanto to dispatch a shot into the corner of their goal. Maybe we deserved more goals in the first half but it was a determined Yeovil who came out firing early second half and levelled. This was the spur we needed to go on and win and we duly obliged.
On to Kings Lynn on Saturday which on paper looks an easier game but a potential banana skin as they will want revenge for the drubbing they got at GGL.

OS, you're spot on there. The difference between former Us sides I've seen and this (arguably our best ever team) is that this team does not cave in under pressure. This team thrives under pressure, which is indeed what it takes to be champions. It's certainly produced some matches with thrilling endings!
This season I have been so impressed by the consistency of our team's professional, workmanlike approach, their cohesion, spirit and commitment. Morale must be great at the moment and that's rubbing off on us fans at a time when that is really important: we don't get to come together physically, socialise and spend time together, come to those evening events the club kindly puts on for us so we the fans can hear what's going on behind the scenes and feel part of things. I miss all that, but with things going so well it doesn't feel quite so bad.
No matter how this season continues and ends, we have a lot of people who deserve a lot of credit. I'm extremely proud of them all. We are so fortunate to have what we have.

I think everyone is excited and so we should be. But there are so many games left and the remaining schedule is brutal. There will undoubtedly be many twists and turns ahead, points will be dropped by all contenders and in unexpected games. I think a relatively low total will win it this year, around about 82-85 is my prediction. Look at the form sides like Wrexham, Hartlepool need to get to that level and it’s hard to see them gaining more. Enjoy the moment and remember the play offs would be an absolutely fantastic result for this club if we don’t quite keep to our current trajectory!

What the league really need to do now is to sort out the Dover situation regarding the games they played so each team knows the number of games that they have played & any points that will be deducted if they have already beaten Dover. (If that makes sense ).

(If that makes sense ). Don't hold your breath! The National League is not exactly renowned for moving quickly. There might just be a nice little points present waiting for us when we hit the almost inevitable sticky patch.

I must admit that whatever excitement I'm feeling at the moment is tinged with some concern about what next season could potentially bring. Promotion to the Football League was always going to bring loss of revenue and increased cost due to the need to tear up the plastic pitch and lay a new grass pitch. To potentially be faced with that on the back of a season with virtually no income is a frightening prospect. I'm sure those that run the club are planning for that possibility.

I would not worry too much, because I think we would relocate too some where were we can still have our community hub and training sessions. Yes it is annoying that the football league want allow these pitches at the moment, but that is the rules. Dose not make it right.

I think as fans we worry about that if it happens. The board have been planning for this possibility for well over 4 years now. I've got huge faith in them to do the right thing and certainly the best they can.
