Nice clean sheet for Dean. It was a very important sharp save when it was just 1-0. That result should reverberate around the league and earn some respect. It was Carlisle’s heaviest league defeat since August 2014.

Three points please, with our superior possession blessed with clear cut chances being created, and, crucially, taken. It would be relaxing to hit the 80 minute mark without those niggling collywobbles kicking in as we try and defend a one-goal lead. Not taking the opponents for granted, but this fixture in eminently winnable. And I’ll be keenly listening to the pre-match music… It still seems surreal playing such teams as this in a league match. I can remember Carlisle in the old First Division (that’s the Premiership in today’s money for you younger forum visitors). If i remember correctly they went top early on in the season and finished up getting relegated.

It was Carlisle’s heaviest league defeat since August 2014. Quite a stat! We won't win many matches in League Two by this sort of margin, but today's result announced our arrival as a force to be reckoned with in the fourth tier. A week ago we were bemoaning the lack of reward for sixty minutes of near-dominance at Exeter. This afternoon we perhaps had less of the ball in the first seventy minutes, but by the end of that were 3-0 ahead! That's football. The lack of discipline shown by their substitute Mampala - receiving a second yellow after 15 minutes on the pitch - amounted to the waving of a white flag. David Ajiboye scored our fourth against the ten men, and we saw out the last ten minutes to preserve the clean sheet. Despite last weekend's setback, Matt showed confidence in the XI that had started at Exeter, the only change being Donovan Wilson coming in for the injured Tobi Sho-Silva. It was still good to get Omar and Tanto on late in the match. Alistair Smith's brace makes him our leading scorer (across all competitions). Ben Goodliffe was awesome once again, and Dean Bouzanis is now showing the qualities that earned him such regard as a youngster at Liverpool.

What a difference getting your shots on target makes :
Last week 2 on target out of 18, this week 7 on target from 17, 4 goals, one cleared off the line and we hit the post too.
A great team performance today back to front, and calmness in front of goal when needed.

We've also won all four of those!

Funny old couple of weeks. After thoroughly dominating Exeter for 68 mins and not being able to score we then take our chances yesterday. Carlisle, in the first half, we’re possibly the best side I’ve seen this season. Dean was certainly busier against them than any other side this season.
I’m not sure what it is with refs at this level but why are they so afraid to book players. There was a poor tackle in the first few minutes by their player that was a stonewall yellow yet he didn’t do anything. It was no surprise to me that it boiled over.
Right on half time the players were certain of handball on the line. If it was that would have been a straight red.
Having seen the highlights I thought their guy was unfortunate to get a second booking.
We were excellent second half too and should have won by more but their keeper was in fine form.
Where the ref got only 4 minutes injury time I have no idea. Should have been a minimum of 7 and that would have allowed Tanto to have a chance with his one on one.
Smith, Ajiboye, Eastmond and Goodliffe were sensational yesterday.
A really good performance. Roll on Saturday

I always like to see games end with 11 against 11 if at all possible. The sending off was ludicrous, what did the bloke do wrong? The disgraceful baying of certain sections of the crowd including some old men to my right doesn't help either and when you see very young children wave him goodbye as he walked off it makes you wonder what on earth is going on. Also some of the disgusting chanting was out of order from both sets of supporters though i was especially dismayed to hear it from our fans. I suppose it's acceptable now we are in the "big time?" I was watching the highlights of a Liverpool v Arsenal game from the 1964-65 (or thereabouts) season on a ‘Match of the Day’ compilation DVD. Arsenal scored in front of the Kop, and almost to a man, the Kop applauded… times have changed Billy.

Strange game. In the end we should have won by 6 or 7 as we still missed 4 or 5 clear cut chances. Carlisle looks decent going forward but thier defence was woeful, especially the full backs. However, the biggest difference for me was having Wilson start with Omar and Isaac to come on. Sho silva is nowhere near the same quality and we look a different proposition up top with pace and power. Bennet had a decent game in the withdrawn striker role and wins plenty of headers, but I do prefer Omar there.
Feel for their sub, who was their liveliest player, but his arm was flailing. Both probably yellows.
Ref went very very soft on Carlisle after that. We should have had a pen and the final whistle blowing after Isaac's perfectly timed run was the kind of behavior one would expect from a dad refereeing a one sided game in little league, certainly not in a professional game. Easy 6 mins of injury time.
Two superb finishes from Smith, and ajiboye was immense again. Dean and the back 4's clean sheet was well earned.
Let's hope GGL can remain the kind of fortress it's proving to be. No teams gonna want to come here. If we can pick up a few wins on the road and keep enough players fit we could be play off challengers.

Probably the best quality football I have seen Sutton play. I had felt this season the team were missing Kenny, but today was the day Alistair Smith laid claim to first choice in the role. His two goals were placements rather than blasts, a very welcome change to have a player who concentrates on accuracy first. 4-0 is an "off with his head" scoreline for the defeated manager who may survive if it proves an isolated result but he won't survive a repeat. Carlisle did not have many players who looked comfortable, Allessandra the best of them and he was not playing as a striker. Apparently today continued a long run of poor form for the Cumbrians, who don't appear to have a better striker than the Villa loanee Brad Young, yet he was brought on only when the game was gone.
