This will be an an interesting contest at home to a club who sit 3rd in the division and on a good run of form. Maybe we will attract a record league crowd for our ground certainly in modern times.
I'd take a point but know we are capable of all three after seeing other League two opposition.

11th v 3rd in the league table, 2nd v 1st in the form table. 😀 Vale have won their last three away games in the league, we've won our last three at home. Promises to be a good match. And, with no Premier League games tomorrow, and no other London League club at home, we can expect a decent crowd.
Their main source of goals is Jamie Proctor, with five to his name so far.

Vale seem to do what we can't and vice versa.
They've beaten FGR and Scunthorpe away, but drew with Carlisle at home and lost away to Northampton.
They have a decent manager in Darrell Clarke, who of course is familiar to us with his time at Salisbury. They also have Torquay's keeper from last season, Covolan and are likely to be missing the player who scored all their goals in the last 2 away league games, Ben Garrity.
Just to note, the last 3 goals PV have score all occurred in injury time in the 2nd half (2 against Orient last weekend to turn a 2-1 defeat into a 3-2 win) and an injury time penalty on Tuesday v Rochdale in the Papa Johns.
This one I think is going to be far too close to call!

Really looking forward to this one. Playing another historical league club at home. Should be a cracker. Vale fans don't fancy Bennett much so I've had a sneaky bet on him to score. Wouldn't it be great if we can get a crowd near 4000.

Two interviews from Port Vale on their club YouTube page.
Manager and a player.
Talk well about us.

I'm really excited for this game considering a few weeks ago I'd have been bricking it. Two sides that have both been playing great football. Big crowd. What's not to look forward to?

More random stats for you in the 9 league games so far
The average time for us to score our first goal this season in all 9 games is 48 mins. Home its 37min, away its 64min. The average time for us to concede our first goal this season in all 9 games is 61 mins. Home its 71min and away its 55min.
Two thirds of our goals have happened in the 2nd half, and a third of all our goals have been scored between the 60th and 75th min.
Early days of course, but interesting to see where we are and where we end up after 20,30 and 40 games.

I agree with Sarah. At the start of the season I looked at some of our fixtures and felt a little trepidation. It's not that some teams still won't have the beating of us, but our squad contains seriously skillful and motivated players. And we have top manager. Knowing how well we compete, the challenges are now all ones to look forward to.

I think the last few games have shown we have nothing to fear from this league and there is no team in it we couldn't beat on a decent day.

It's apparent from Matt's pre-match interview that one of the team that won at Northampton is going to be missing due to injury. Although we have a good squad, with Brad House, (Jon Barden?), Kenny Davis, (Tanto?), Omar and Tobi already missing, our cover options are more limited in some positions than others.

I read from this interview and the one following Northampton that Jon Barden is fit and it was a last minute decision to leave Tanto out last week. I expect both to be at least on the bench or even starting dependent upon who is injured.

Off the topic of the actual football, I shall again come bearing homemade sweet treats so please come and find me if you've had your fill of chips and had something sweet! Today I have fig rolls, caramel Viennese whirls (a cheeky little invention of mine) coconut ice and chocolate fudge. I'm easy to spot today because I have my yellow tights on 😁 Again I'm not asking for payment but if you take anything I'd appreciate if you donate whatever you can afford to my charity of the week, Sutton Night Watch suttonnightwatch.com/donate/
