I find it hard to believe it’s 7 years ago today we got our first win back in the Conference with that stupendous win up at Lincoln.
Worner; Amankwaah, Beckwith, Collins, Downer (Burge); Stearn, Gomis (Morrell), Bailey, Wishart; Deacon, Biamou (Dickson). Not used: Cooper, Fitchett.
Some team.

On this day in 1969, escorted by my late grandfather, I passed through the GGL entrance into what was then the Borough Sports Ground for the first time.
That afternoon, Sutton defeated Leatherhead in the Amateur Cup first round by 2 0 (for the record, Peter Drabwell and an og by former Sutton player, Bob Taylor).
I don't remember much about the match, but we sat in the main stand. I do remember being fascinated by the league tables and fixtures/results in the programme though. By the beginning of the following season, I was recording all the results in the Isthmian every week in a little book and that grew over the years to what I have compiled now.
So it's a happy 54th to me and by coincidence I will later be answering 10 questions raised by Radio London for broadcast this evening I believe.
I know there is still quite a few regular supporters who have even longer associations with the club although to be fair (to me) they generally tend to be older!
To all us 50 and overs, keep going.

I don’t know what form your personal database comprises, whether it’s specifically just Sutton United or not. No matter, I’m sure you get enjoyment out of it. Personally, I have always kept a record of every game I’ve ever attended. It started with using a school jotter, then I transferred all the details into a hard-backed book many years ago and also copied everything into Excel, which I continue to maintain. It is unique to me and is only about game I physically attended. My first home game was 30th March 1965, Huddersfield Town v Middlesbrough, Town winning 1-0 with a 14th minute header by Les Massie. I know exactly how many games I’ve been to, how many goals scored, how many times I’ve seen any team, not just HT or SU.

I haven't kept a record of non Sutton matches although could probably recall them as there haven't been many (either at a Sutton game or in my youth a ball boy which meant doing the ressies at home).
I have a basic record of Sutton matches watched on a spreadsheet.
My Sutton records, though sadly not complete, go back to 1910 when we rose to Senior status.

I've a dim recollection that we had rather a good win on this day twenty years ago. Perhaps somebody, Jared maybe, can remind me of the details. 😉
