Result is great. What is not great is that Tranmere and Mansfield are winning their every game since about two months (both lost last time against Sutton I think). And also not at all great is Eastmond picking up two red cards in - how many were they? Three? - only few league games. With all due respect, determination is good, hitting people without the ball isn’t. And he did that also ten mins before the red card but got away with it.

We can’t do anything about the form of other teams, but don’t forget, we are now unbeaten in 7 games, after a battling point today.

That was a high quality game between 2 high quality sides. That first half was a perfect demonstration of that.
Shame about the red card (and to be honest I didn't see what happened aside the 4th official getting involved) because in the 2nd half we looked more like scoring.
For a 0 0, the score didn't reflect what a very good game it was.

A fair result today after both teams equalled each other out. A point each A fair outcome. No comment on the officials today but I await markf. to comment!!

If it's as you say it is then he's let himself down there. We were looking likely winners and in control since the interval. Up to that point he'd played excellently, whereas his partner Smith a poor first half by his own lofty standards. I'll reserve judgment until I've seen the highlights, although I watched Tuesdays 'handball' ten times without being able to spot it. We did enough while on top to deserve a little luck. To be fair, even with a man advantage Northampton's biggest threat was the long throw. How Randall's header stayed out I can't understand, must've been a world class save. Again, highlights will reveal. Expect Bennett to start on Tuesday. He was unlucky today as he was stripped off and ready at 65 mins, then Matt must've seen something and changed his mind. Perhaps because Omar was winning his battles well second half. Wilson also had to sit down as he was ready to come on before the red card!

From the highlights… the red card looks less justified than the one at Newport. Yes he did some erratic moves but not actual hit the opponent, not for sure with the “high foot” they were claiming.

Thought we weren’t quite at our best first half. Lots of little bits went astray. Smith not his usual tidy self. Slack on the big chance they got and Deano did his bit (again). We made one good chance and the keeper made a great save.
2nd half much better and we looked in control. Randall should have scored but still another good save. Sending off I can see why he’s called it as he did. I think it lacks a bit of common sense and understanding. Easty has looked to do a big movement/stride to protect the ball, but he has raised his leg and come down from high. I don’t think it was even a tackle as such. I think it’s harsh on first look and in context a yellow sufficient. But I also think Easty needs to take care with getting foot up in those areas as that’s the 2nd call that has gone against him. Presume we may lose him for 4 league games which is very costly? It’s a shame as you could easily see us starting to build up a bit of pressure and we could have gone on to win.
All in all in the circumstances it’s a good point, we’re still on a good run. Let’s keep it going.

And to add it’s annoying to have a 4th official involved and sticking oar in. Why oh why do we need them? There are already 3 officials! The referee seemed well placed to see it. The 4th official spent most the game a few yards away from their idiot of a coach/manager who spent the whole game complaining at every decision. No doubt they were in the ear straight away on that influencing.

Just seen the highlights. The ref was about 4 or 5 yards away 🙄

A very classy chess game of a match. Both defences gave excellent perfomances.
I was a little puzzled as to why Northampton stuck to their, admittedly efficient, system once we'd gone down to 10 men, rather than just go at us more. But I am no great tactician.

Looked at Easty again. Not a red imo. Hope we can successfully appeal it.

In the end the teams were happy to settle for a point apiece from this game. For the most part this was a closely-fought midfield battle. By the time that Craig Eastmond was sent off, both sides were running out of steam. We stay 3rd, they stay 4th. Honours even.
And yes, this was our first home draw of the season. And only our second 0-0. (That's league games only.)
